I'm watching the keynote now and so far so good.
I thought there were a lot of awkward or ho hum moments but then they brought out the actual desktop updates and I thought folks on this forum would go nuts... but so far I'm seeing a lot of complaints. I mean they really updated the desktops and didn't discuss the watch bands and still...this forum.

So here we are on a thread specifically for the watch bands and...and...argh...I'm beginning to think this is actually an Android or Windows forum in disguise. And goodness knows I really enjoy Android these days and admire much about the Windows side of things. But I'm excited to see Apple finally rousing from its stupor and finally pooping cool stuff out of the pipeline with more to come. I thought we'd all be more excited than what I've been seeing so far.

I cannot believe they released the rainbow one! Almost spent stupid money getting one off ebay that they gave away to staff.

Bought 2 instantly even though I'm going out of town for 2 months. It'll just have to clog up my mailbox until I return.

Heck yeah

There is a certain contingent of this forum's population which has a very strong agenda, of, basically, "Apple is horrible and wrong", and they carefully examine each new bit of information or rumor that comes out to see how best to twist it to fit their narrative. And it often makes this forum nearly unreadable.

See the Seinfeld episode when Jerry purposely throws his set so lead-in Bania would bomb by wearing an early-'80s Robin Williams/Mork From Ork rainbow suspenders & big pin on button.

NBC executive: "And, Jerry? The suspenders? A little hacky."

With the rumors of improved bands with sensors I think I'll wait.

And I bet it looks nice with a space gray Apple Watch. Need to see unboxing of it first...images don't say a lot.

The last band I purchased through Apple was the white sport band and ever since I use Amazon for bands. $50 is still so ridiculous to me when you can buy the exact same band for like $15/$20 on Amazon. My problem though.

I really love their colors.

You're purchasing a lot higher quality of flueroastamer over a third party Sport band. Physically, they look the same as Apples. But Apple has third-party bands defeated in every way with texture, build quality and overall thickness.

I haven't yet tried a regular sport band from Amazon but I did try a highly rated Nike volt copy in black and yellow. It does look just like the real one for the most part.

My frustration with it is they could have made it thicker at least at the part that slots into the watch. But they didn't. And with the band being made of silicone like the real Apple iPhone cases are, it attracts lint and dust a lot more than the less grippy fluorastomer Apple uses. I can live with the silicone since it is comfortable and I am really pleased that the maker of my particular knock off band used nickel free stainless steel for the metal bits, but it's the poor fit to the watch that has me still willing to shell out $50 for the real bands. At least the Nike versions. I'm not entirely confident that the band is going to stay attached to the watch when I work out or swim with it.

Some people may get a perfect fit, but I think the quality variances across individual samples might be pretty high on these third party silicone bands. It's really going to be a luck of the draw thing with them.

They are certainly nice enough to wear around the house though. I would get another one just to get colors that Apple and Nike don't offer.

I'm actually through with buying regular sport bands. I'm all about the Nike styled ones now because those holes really improve the comfort for me by letting more air reach my skin. That is true of the third party band as well.

I never got around to buying any steel or leather bands. I think the nylon bands are very attractive but I am wary of trying one. My skin has always chafed against nylon bands in the past.

I like the rainbow one. But red lugs? Hmm

I like the grey/yellow I have now. Comfortable and light but it's showing it's age.

Wish the woven nylons from Rio Olympics could get a wider release! Some really nice colors there.

I like it too. And I personally don't have a problem unintentionally promoting equal rights for humans.

But dang it, it irritates me in a way that most people just don't care, I guess, that the metal can't be matched to the watch I own. I will never buy a band from Apple until they offer them with the space grey aluminum color or I decide to buy the Steel watch. And I don't see the latter happening any time soon.

Finally, someone who gets it!

I don't understand how they can produce $50 watch bands that don't match the color of your watch if they care about aesthetics even a little. I find the mismatch between where the watchband meets the watch and the watch itself to be such an eyesore!

I quite like the Obsidian/Black Nike Sport Band. But, seriously, when are we going to get some new Leather Loops?

As another note, the Sapphire and Berry Classic Buckles have been removed.

I do feel so old on this forum sometimes. I see rainbow stuff I actually think of retro 70's style since rainbow imagery was popular around that time just because...1970's. I had a pair of the very popular rainbow flip flops in the late 70's to early 80's. Google 70's fashion if you want some laughs. I can't believe that era was my childhood. And then I was a teen in the 80's. It's a wonder I didn't burn my retinas out.

Anyway when I see rainbow merchandise, I think of my childhood first. I'd happily wear rainbow stuff now, if it didn't give me flashbacks to people dressed in stripes, paisley, and plaid...often on the same outfit.

Ah...here's what I mean about rainbows and 70's fashion--a well dressed American family of the 1970's. Nice pants, dad!

The Mac lineup had the update I was waiting for, the end. Buying a 5K low end with 256GB SSD.
Should be a good buy and upgrade proof for awhile. Connect it to a decent external drive for photos and media, and run OS and apps off the SSD.

Yes, I have a NAS, but I don't use it anymore. I have everything on the cloud: photos on Google Photos, music on Apple Music, work on BitBucket and iCloud Drive.

Got some new color today. Rainbow band and (RED) silicon case. Had the (RED) leather case for my 6+ but it got alot of discoloration, gonna try the silicon case now. Far brighter red and even a shade lighter then the (RED) iPad smart cover.
