Everyone knows it, nobody wants to say it. Ever since tim cook started its become obvious that he believes (mistakenly) that he needs to "fix" the culture at apple. For some reason its just attack after attack on that culture. This is just another example of the culture shift he is making.

I'm just going to say it... GHETTO!!! Do. Not. Like.

Apple, is not the apple of tim cooks eye. That my friends, would be his his agenda.

"Everyone knows it, nobody wants to say it" is how most asinine rants begin.

I can't decide if running a new "What Will Your Verse Be" commercial the day Robin Williams passes away is in good or bad tastes.

which weather app is that?

That is The Weather Channel's app. They recently changed it's design, I think it looks great.

Detroit has a $200 Billion GDP. Detroit had a corrupt municipality. But Detroit has never had bankrupt people.

Keep in mind that Tony Fadell, the father of the iPhone and the iPod is a Detroiter. His brother is an artist active in the city.

Also it might be interesting for folks to understand that the CEOs of Twitter, Google, Craigslist, Groupon and until recently Microsoft are also Detroiters.

Don't forget Quicken Loans is based in Detroit.

Detroit is my hometown, I love my city. Sure it's been on hard times. But I think the city is getting better. I was just walking around downtown a couple weeks ago, taking photos, the city is beautiful. And I am looking forward to what the future of Detroit holds. The plans Mr. Ilitch has for the city (he owns the Detroit Red Wings, Tigers and Little Caesars), will hopefully turn the city around and back towards the premiere city it used to be.

You gotta remember, Detroit used to be the one of the greatest cities in America. I don't ever see it getting to that level in my lifetime, but I hope that one day it'll get close. While the news stories, it's reputation, etc don't help its image any, maybe people who talk down about it have probably never been there, only seen what the news has said and read about it's problems on the internet. Well, you should go visit sometime, see what downtown has to offer. I've been to other major cities around the country: Philly, DC, NYC, Baltimore, San Antonio, Orlando, etc. and there is "ghetto" all over the country. If you look at the definition of the word (and guessing by the website you're on, most of you have Macs, just check it for yourself), every city has them. So please, before talking about something many of you don't know anything about, why not go and check out what Detroit has to offer? You might be surprised. Hell, you might even enjoy it.

I really liked the Detroit-based commercial. Made me feel at home. Plus, anything that promotes Detroit is a good thing. Especially from a company as big as Apple.

So who do these ads appeal to. I mean who is it marketing to?

I think a lot of people. You don't have to do the same for a living as they do in the videos to be impressed about the massive amount of ways to use the iPad these days.

Personally I haven't used mine in a single way any of these ad's showcase, but they are still telling the story of a product that can do way more, and are doing way more, than anyone imagined, every single day around the world!

Impressive... Love it...

aaa.hhhh.

"I wanted to convince other people to see Detroit the way I was seeing it," he says.

You're not selling devices to many people who are bankrupt.

There are plenty of people "bankrupt" and on the verge of bankruptcy who are buying up plenty of devices yo. Where are you getting your facts? There is no less spending and people being in major debt to get the next device released yo, than say 20 years ago or more. Still the same amount of spending and digging one self deep into a whole yo.

You think companies get "rich" off the "rich folk who can afford the best"? No sirbobbers bobs... They rich because they sell anything to the desperate and everyone of 'em buys it up like candy, when the mass consumerism is feeling good over a product ad, they feel rush of chemicals in the brain and they want in on it, they not thinking of debt or potential bankruptcy oh no sirboobbers boob, nah uh! They just "feeling they got a verse" and it's: "I ain't care but dat, I want the bling thing on TV yeaaah!".

Seriously.

I love you all.

What's sad is that they are promoting so-called "music creation" where you actually don't actually have any music training whatsoever. I don't really call non-musicians creating music actual music. I call it obnoxious noises put to a rhythm by a computer for people that know less about music than the slackers creating it. Oh well. I don't pay attention to commercials all that much. I guess we can expect more stupid commercials since Iovine and Dre are in charge of ads. What shame. Cook is single handedly screwing up Apple.

I don't know where you're from, but ghetto has never had anything to do with race where I'm from. It's a a type of place, with certain types of people. Those certain types of people can, and are, any race.

Must be a nice ghetto wherever you are from, filled with Apple-product wielding international musicians.

The Beatles never had any formal music training. they picked it up along the way. a distaste for a musical genre is an opinion. the sad thing is elitists deeming every musical choice inferior lest they pass their judgement.

music is about conveying an emotion. if a song is enjoyed by even one person, its achieved its raison d'etre.

and... I see nothing that can't be done with other devices, especially android tablets.

clearly you're not looking hard enough. of all the apps shown here, android only has 1 from that list, a chatting app.

Wow, I'm disappointed in the reaction to these new ads.

I actually like them because it shows that the iPad can be way more than just a media consumption device, as the detractors who first saw the device four years ago would often say. And it may have turned Yaoband into a potential international pop sensation, too.
