Apple Delaying iMac Orders, Refresh Due Next Tuesday?

What time do they usually do things? The Apple store is on my way to work. Will they do it tonight or like 4am tomorrow?
 
Will an apple store employee tell me if I harass them all day or bribe them with monies? Or don't they know either? :confused:
 
Higher resolution screens?

OK, guys, I think you are right, touch screens are not the most desirable thing to see in an iMac, although I am sure they will implement it sooner or later, because it has an appeal nowadays to many customers - and it´s up to you if you use it or not. Time will answer this question.

But... what do you think about higher resolution screens? Specially for the 21,5 iMac. I currently own a notebook with 15.4 screen that has exactly the same amount of pixels of a 21.5 iMac (1920x1080). When I use the 21.5 iMac, the large pixel size bother me, while at the notebook pixels are almost invisible, and it´s a great pleasure to use it.

More times than not they don't really know in advance. If it is tomorrow, I'm sure a few employees might know who stay with the night crew to set up but they are pretty good at keeping they're lips sealed. Someone I used to work with now works part time at a store I'm gonna see if I can contact him and see if he knows anything.

They really do not know so you can give 'me a break and start bugging them about stock tomorrow instead (assuming it's released as rumored)

I have heard others say that it takes all night not only to put the new posters up but to put the new iMacs out and load them with the apple store software. I imagine they will have it ready for tomorrow morning as thats when the new iMacs will most likely go on sale. The website will take longer to update as I believe that is hosted in America and thus we have to take in to account the time difference thats why i assumed around 1pm, plus it was roughly the same for the macbook pro.
 
I don't know if this is relevant but the shipping on the basic models say 24 hours but when I select the quad i7 option the shipping extends to 3 days.. When I selected the quad i7 option last night it said shipping only 2 days.. so it has changed by + 1 day :confused::rolleyes:
 
I am amazed as to why we have not seen a single "imac 2011 leak" ... pics of the new imac .. pics of the box ? etc like with the iphones lol .... i'm going to be seriously depressed if i go to apple.com/uk tomorrow and still see that white iphone on there ... seriously

ps - i just noticed i am no longer a macrumor newbie - I am a regular now .. woo hoo

that is exactly what I am wondering...why are there no leaked pics of boxes etc! like with the MBP
 
Apple Store employees know ZERO about future product releases except for what they read on MacRumors and the like on the internet. They are given no prior knowledge to a new product release.
 
I really hope that it comes tomorrow as my apple store credit card is on fire waiting to be spent. ;) however @dpdesilva on twitter is rumoring that apple will delay imac refresh due to leaks and rumors being overshadowed by Bin Laden's Death. Personally I think it might be B.S. I care more about my Imac than the story of his death.

Unless the form factor of any given product in the Macintosh line is radically different or re-designed, leaked pictures of such products are boring and uninteresting.

Plus the iPhones are still the "New, hot thing" in Apple-land, so even a millimeter's difference in the case is a big deal.

Haha, i'll be depressed too:D This is the first time i've been anxiously waiting for an apple product!

If that is true then im going to buy Windows 7 and a PC and pretend I like it...:cool:

Then why all of the leaked photos of the new 2011 MacBook Pros and their boxes prior to release? The form factor of those computers literally didn't change at all.

I'm really surprised we haven't yet seen any leaked photos of the new iMacs if they're indeed coming out tomorrow. I guess we'll see soon enough.

Sounds like a load of bs to me.. someone is fame hungry.. Why would the news of Osama's death overshadow rumors/leaks of the new iMac.. they are both on totally different scales and subjects. One is world breaking news.. one is not and I don't see how it's going to stop people like me from being worried about other things like my life, daily routine and this iMac that I want ever so desperately..


[Edit] and if it's true that the refresh is going to be delayed because of Osama's death.. THEY'RE SO LETTING HIM WIN!! :mad::mad::mad:

My friend is working an overnight with the visual team tonight at a UK apple store. that only means one thing. cannot wait for tomorrow.
 
Looking forward to tomorrow, I'm just hoping it's Tuesday and not thursday. Hoping to lay my hands on a base 27 inch sometime in September :)

My friend works for Apple too, but he is working late tomorrow night.... but also said he has been informed (from other employees) that the refresh will be tomorrow daytime. Which is a bit odd. The only reason i can think of, it maybe they are delaying the POS until the US markets/stores/etc open. I am guessing Apple wouldn't be too keen to release something whilst the natives are still asleep!.... but your friend is working tonight.... soooo :confused:

I really really hope macs are good! I have a £1500 HP, and a £1900 Sony Vaio, and both are playing up! After only 2 years! :confused:
