That's what iPads are for. Apple said so.
I'm a software developer. You can't program on an iPad. Apple never said so.

Good night sweet prince. If anyone still wants one, get it while it's still available for $800 getting cleared out!
The macbook to me is the quintessential Apple product, in that it asks you to make extremely controversial tradeoffs. Here, we have Apple saying "this one thing is more important than this entire set of other things people usually consider must-haves", and while my brain says no, my heart keeps chanting yes.To all of the people hating on the MacBook, I'm pretty sure 99% of you have any never used one.
The 12" MacBook was magical. It was so darn light you would question whether or not there was anything inside. The difference between the weight of the 12" MacBook and MacBook Air may not seem like a lot, but it is. It's astronomical. The 12" MacBook is the device you wouldn't think twice about taking with you outside, but anything else you'd reconsider.
They still have an iPad, iPad mini, iPad Air and iPad Pro (2 sizes).Frankly I never understood why apple had a macbook that was lighter and thinner than a macbook air. It made no sense to me. If anything the macbook and the air should have had the names reversed. But what I think would have been better would be to just merge the air and the macbook into the same product line but just offered in different sizes.
Like at one point they had an ipad, ipad mini, ipad pro and ipad air.
I remember when steve jobs first went back to apple and he said they had too many variations of basically the same product and it seems like apple was heading back that way but at least they're trying to somewhat simplify their product line again
where is this?Good night sweet prince. If anyone still wants one, get it while it's still available for $800 getting cleared out!
But the Air uses essentially the same processor.
The 11" was the bomb, bring it back with your spec's, I'm inBring out an 11" 16:10 Retina Air. With function key row.
Allegedly, iOS 13 is supposed to address this on iPadOS(And I wonder how anyone with an iPad is copying a single 2TB file from one external HD to another external HD. If the iPad is the intended replacement, such a simple task should be no problem, no?)
Yeah, but I’m not comparing it to the 2017 MacBook Air.The MacBook Air uses basically the same Core M processor. These comments about how the MacBook was a slow performer are way off base. The 2017 MacBook was significantly faster than the 2015 MacBook Air that Apple also sold until yesterday.
No, don’t you remember - removing the headphone jack is courage. This to me is courage.
The 2019 MacBook Air uses a barely updated version of the processor that’s in the 2017 MacBook. The i7 2017 MacBook is about the same speed as the current MacBook Air.Yeah, but I’m not comparing it to the 2017 MacBook Air.
Why not compare it to Macintosh Portable?
Coinciding with refreshes to the MacBook Air and the entry-level 13-inch MacBook Pro today, Apple has discontinued the 12-inch MacBook, which is no longer available to purchase through its online store.

Apple had not updated the 12-inch MacBook since June 2017 and it was becoming increasingly uncertain whether the notebook had a future in Apple's product lineup, especially after the MacBook Air was redesigned last year with many of the same features as the 12-inch MacBook for $100 less at the time.
The 12-inch MacBook first launched in April 2015 and started at $1,299 prior to being discontinued. One of the 12-inch MacBook's only advantages over the 2018 MacBook Air was portability, as it has a smaller screen size and is nearly three quarters of a pound lighter at 2.03 pounds versus 2.75 pounds.
Apple's notebook lineup is much more straightforward now at a glance, with the lower-end MacBook Air starting at $1,099 after receiving a price cut today, the mid-range 13-inch MacBook Pro starting at $1,299, and the high-end 15-inch MacBook Pro for the most demanding users starting at $2,399.

Oh yeah, for some reason I thought they stopped the air. They still have an iPad, iPad mini, iPad Air and iPad Pro (2 sizes).
Right now, Apple doesn’t have a notebook that weighs less than 2.75 lbs. I think that’s a mistake.
