I'm guessing it doesn't fit the Ultra and they might replace it with a revised design that does fit it (and costs twice as much of courseI’m guessing it just didn’t sell. It’s a lot for most people when cheaper charge stands exist.
They are selling exactly the same product for little less, manufactured by Belkin, since yesterday. It was probably not selling too well. $79 for a charger is a lot.
And that's precisely why he has to speculate by cutting a cost (Apple dock) and charging royalties from Belkin.Probably because he's the CEO of the most valuable company and leads them to record profits.
1. Because they weren't going to make it bigger;Im assuming its because it doesn't work with the larger watch now.
I prefer not to add to the world's junk pile of unused electronics. Stuff like this should never be automatically sent to people who don't want it.Wow, this is an essential part of the whole Apple Watch experience for us. I am surprised to see it discontinued.
Could argue that this charger should be included with each watch purchase.
They would still have to finish each unit with the extra plastic, box it up, and stock all through each of the retail channels, where it would sit mostly unsold The biggest cost to Apple isn't the manufacturing cost of this, it's the cost of carrying vast amounts of unsold inventory. But then wouldn’t MagSafe Duo need to be discontinued too? They have essentially the same charging puck. Abe in the “down” position should be able to charge even a giant watch (or the new AirPods Pro).
I thought that this charger came with the earlier Editions at some point, notably the gold models. Upon looking at some old unboxings, I guess it didn't.Could argue that this charger should be included with each watch purchase.
This charging dock came with my Apple Watch (1st gen or Series 3)I’m guessing it just didn’t sell. It’s a lot for most people when cheaper charge stands exist.

Yeah. I just use the charger that came with the Watch. I suspect many others do the same or buy a multi-device charger. It was probably not selling too well. $79 for a charger is a lot.
My guess is that the AW Ultra won’t fit on the discontinued Apple dock/charger.
We have two of the Belkin Boost Charge Pro watch chargers which are adjustable to 42/44/45 AW with case, I had doubts whether the larger Ultra would fit, but the Store page claims Ultra compatibility?

Yes Ultimate Watch Charger $349.99 coming soonIm assuming its because it doesn't work with the larger watch now.
Yea and I just bought some base that looks like that one but black that you wrap the cord in and put the puck in the middle for like $5 on Amazon, and it works fine.Yeah. I just use the charger that came with the Watch. I suspect many others do the same or buy a multi-device charger.
Yeah! And that’s why Belkin, who also pay royalties to Apple for sell the dock, could sell it a 85% with new compatibility and fast charge, ‘cause it not sell well. LOL.Yeah. I just use the charger that came with the Watch. I suspect many others do the same or buy a multi-device charger.
