This was my all-time favorite Apple accessory. It was beautifully weighted, foldable for easy travel, covered with a soft but durable material that feels like you are putting your watch in a jewelry-store display, perfectly accommodates flat or nightstand-mode charging, plays well with every band out there, and is so easy to use that it helps make you forget your phone requires charging at all. I still use mine, and it's just a pleasure.

I ended up buying 2, I bought the original when it came out, and had to buy the revised version for the 44mm Watch size. I assumed it wouldn’t work with the Ultra, was still suprised I couldn’t find it on the Apple store website when I tried to confirm. I ordered the Belkin one and will give mine to my girlfriend.

I work in a big retail selling phones and other accessories and this product is one of the worst sellers that I've ever seen. No wonder why they discontinued it.

I bought one back when they first came out and I had just upgraded my Apple Watch Series 2 to a Series 4. The 4 simply wouldn't align properly unless I folded it back about 45 degrees, and then at that point, it sometimes slipped off, despite being magnetic.
I returned it, and later learned it was slightly redesigned to handle the 4, but I decided not to buy the updated version. Instead I got the Belkin Apple Watch Travel Stand, which only cost $18. It may not look as pretty but it doesn't need to - it does exactly what I want, and at barely 1/5 the cost - even with my current Watch Series 6.
So it would seem Apple made the right call here.

Okay, you sell cheap phones to average users, I don't find it hard to believe that some users would never spend $79 on an original Apple product: it's full of similar people on MacRumors as well.
Then there are other people who instead look for original products and pay dearly for them, even here on MacRumors, where a few months ago a user bought a case/dock/charger of the first Apple Watch Edition in blue version, impossible to find, at $400, used, 7 years old, but I'm sure 98% of the “Apple fans” on MacRumors don't even know what product I'm talking about. Here, that's the point: Apple is good at selling crap at absurd prices, because you keep buying it from them. And it is good for those who work seriously to leave Apple, which now sells hardware and software crap. And you also sell general products to your customers, so you are all happy. 🤣
