It’s actually disappointing that they have the same battery life, considering the 15” has a 25% bigger battery
15^2 / 13^2 is 1.331, which would indicate it has a 33.1% bigger screen. Same brightness too. So, makes perfect sense. The screen is the bulk of the draw.

What i don’t have is personal photos, music and video. Those are on my home laptop with a 1TB SSD.
I think it's ridiculous that Apple has created a situation where we can't keep our personal items on our computers. That's absurd!

Good thing MacOS doesn't take up 50%. I guess on my computer the Logic and Garageband assets and stuff are considered part of the system. But that's an issue. Lots of people like using those apps. Apple should start thinking about that

But that is my work laptop owned by my employer. I have no need to put all of those personal files on it. Nor do I need more storage. I’m sure that my company would prefer not to have to pay more for it.

the point is we all have different needs and different budgets. Perhaps one day Apple will add more RAM and storage and not charge any more for it but I’m not holding my breath for that.

It's intended to function like a souped-up iPad Pro. Be happy you can charge and connect peripherals AND connect headphones.
I've gotta ask...why do people care os much about headphones. Like, I get it for the people who care so much about audio and can actually heart the difference, but I don't head a difference between wireless and wires headphones. I habit used wired headphones in years.

Recently, I bought the MacBook Air 13-Inch. I tried wired headphones to see if I could tell a difference and I can't. I use my AirPods for everything. They work just as well and connect just as fast if not faster than having to plug in my head phones. Plus, I can just take them off and the sound is right back to my Mac.

Anyway, the headphone jack to me, is kind of overrated and I don't see the need. If I REALLY need it, I have a dock I plug my Mac into that connects to my external monitor which also has wired speakers. So once again, I don't need the need. Not trying to be a jerk, but if you know what it is, I would love to know. I feel like there are very few people that actually need the headphone jack...

I didn't know it was fanless. The Intel MBAs had a fan, yet they had the same weight as the 13inch M2 MBA, so they could have added a fan to the 15inch MBA without making it heavier. I was almost decided to buy it, after my first disappointment when learning about its weight (explained by the aluminum preference discussed in the interview, but my wish is lightness, not aluminum). But now, knowing that it's fanless and it throttles (unlike my old 2010 Intel MBA, which triggered its fans instead of throttling), I think I'm passing at least until next year, and I'm keeping my mid-2018 i9 MBP 15inch (which BTW weighs 1.83kg, only 300gr more than new the 15inch MBA).

If Apple won't release a 15inch Macbook with fan and with a weight less than 2kg, I'll need to wait for a long time.

So you're currently on a 15-inch MBP, and you want a fan, and you're OK with 300g more than the 15-inch MBA…

Well, the 14-inch MBP is right there?

So what do you do for your personal computer?

Well, there you go. But not everyone can afford the high cost of that upgrade
Then it is not hard to get an external SSD and move your photo library to that. That is a cost vs convenience tradeoff.

Apple is unlikely to just suddenly give us larger SSDs at the same price. They will likely increase the price if they do and then people who don’t need so much storage will have to pay more for. That‘s not ideal either.

There's no reason for Apple not to give larger SSDs at the same price. Storage prices go down every year
