Apple spreads tons of FUD, constantly saying their competitors sell user data. Apple carefully words their attacks to not specifically name google but say competitors.
You almost make it sound like Google has never sold any user data.

They haven't of course as the more informed members already know, but that won't prevent certain fans less interested in fact than FUD claiming they do anyway. I suspect they're the same fans who get so perturbed if something is written about Apple that's not 100% accurate. You almost make it sound like Google has never sold any user data.
Google sells ad space. You almost make it sound like Google has never sold any user data.
Are you implying that "standard quality assurance processes" will prevent all issues? That's one of the problems with apple and security that the google report brought up. Apple is acting after flaws are found instead of using standard quality assurance processes to prevent them from even happening.
Are you implying that "standard quality assurance processes" will prevent all issues?
Ah, yes, hindsight. History and reality tell a different story about pretty much any company. All the issues in the report, yes.
See today's article. We didn't know our apps dominated the App Store, after denying it, they changed their algorithm. "We didn't know" is corporate code word for "oops, we got caught" and here we are discussing how truthful Apple is being about these vulnerabilities. It's not just Apple, most companies do this type of thing.
You almost make it sound like Google has never sold any user data.
People do business with google because most people don’t know or care what google does with your data? And they have a product that is hard to replicate?Think of it this way, the user data is like the source code of software. If google sold that, what reason would any customer do repeat business with google? What reason would any future potential customer do business with google when they can buy it cheaper from the first customer.
What do you think they do with it? Honest question.People do business with google because most people don’t know or care what google does with your data?
Google uses my data to send me targeted advertisements no matter where I am on the web provided the websites call the apis. What do you think they do with it? Honest question.
Sure, with user data utilized for targeting. That's what people mean by "sell user data".Google sells ad space.
I believe they use your otherwise anonymized Advertising ID Number bundled in with hundreds if not thousands or millions of others with similar demographics, and not 17Guy living at 123 Elm Street in Anytown...Google uses my data to send me targeted advertisements no matter where I am on the web provided the websites call the apis.
That's the"u" in FUD. Uncertainty. So many lies from apple that "selling user data" takes on new meaning. Tell the lie so many times, people arent sure what google sellsSure, with user data utilized for targeting. That's what people mean by "sell user data".
I’m certain more FUD comes from Macrumors posters than Apple. That's the"u" in FUD. Uncertainty. So many lies from apple that "selling user data" takes on new meaning. Tell the lie so many times, people arent sure what google sells
Read the article. It's not about iOS tracking people. It's about attackers gaining full control over your phone.
Sure because the hackers also targeted Android phones. For some reason Google forgot to mention this in their announcement right before the iPhone launchI heard that all Uighurs switched from iPhones to Android phones after this revelation.
You're parroting something someone said and that you'd love to believe. It's at BEST a half-truth, but IMO closer to disinformation and misdirection.Sure because the hackers also targeted Android phones. Sure China was only interested in the Muslims with iPhones. I can believe thatYou're parroting something someone said and that you'd love to believe. It's at BEST a half-truth, but IMO closer to disinformation and misdirection.
An independent research group finds that just one of those 11 identified sites may have also tried to access Android devices as well but failed as it was trying to use a Chrome exploit that Google closed back in 2017.
You could be forgiven for not knowing any better but now that you do repeating "hackers targeted Android too and Google didn't mention it" becomes part of the FUD "whaddabout" campaign and you really don't want to be part of that do you?
So stop visiting those web sites or start paying those websites so they don't have to resort to showing ads to survive.Google uses my data to send me targeted advertisements no matter where I am on the web provided the websites call the apis.
That's better, your opinion. Opinions are always acceptable.Sure China was only interested in the Muslims with iPhones. I can believe that
Exactly the logic to be used if you don’t like the fact that Apple uses Siri transcripts and humans to improve Siri. Stop complaining and don't use Siri and don’t contribute to Siri improvement. So stop visiting those web sites or start paying those websites so they don't have to resort to showing ads to survive.
Google doesn't hide the fact they show ads. Apple brags about privacy on their platform. Zero transparency on apples part.Exactly the logic to be used if you don’t like the fact that Apple uses Siri transcripts and humans to improve Siri. Stop complaining and don't use Siri and don’t contribute to Siri improvement.
