And Sunnyvale has a huge concentration of rental apartments. Should children of renters who will never be able to afford a home in Sunnyvale be deprived?

"where homes are now selling for over $2,000 per square foot."
And those are extreme upper end numbers. Hardly the average. Why exaggerate like that's typical?

"Why not send your money to the inner cities that need playgrounds ... and a lot more."
Where have you been sending your money to help out?

I sent $0.14 to San Francisco to clean up their mess.

We appreciate the perspective about inner cities needing playgrounds too but, truth is, so far there have been NO playgrounds created for an entire community- for instance, the parent looking to play with their child with autism and their typical child. Families need a place that’s been created with each of their unique kids in mind. A place created with each parent in mind. Beyond economic means, 1 in every 5 of us today has either a visible or invisible disability. No one is creating parks for everyBODY which is why Magical Bridge is wildly successful. It is truly fun for all ages and all abilities and a place where kindness rules! We invite you to visit and tell us what you think. www.magicalbridge.org

Thank you, we sure are trying. With 20,000 visitors coming to the Palo Alto playground monthly, we love hearing from families who have a place to go together and have fun outdoors - sadly, often for the first time. It’s a small dent in this universe but we do what we can to make it a more kind and accepting place to be. Join us!

What would be enough for you? How about $0?

Please give me a break. $250k is $250k. Stop being so cynical. Even if it is self serving, who cares...it still helps.

Yes indeed! We are thrilled to receive this generous donation from Apple and hope their gift inspires other companies, family foundations and friends to help get us to the finish line. We are still $600k away and so many are waiting for this new community playground to enjoy.

I saw Facebook live from this playground, where a Ukrainian journalist was toured by a woman behind the initiative. Truly inspiring what they already have achieved, and what they're going to do. Great mind and strong woman, they stated from zero pitching Magical Bridge, going from company to company in the area to build something for public use. That must have been truly a long a winding road from that to Apple donations. I hate to read patronising an judgemental comments here about the donation sum, location or choices.

I've volunteered this summer in the community initiative to build an atypical playground elements in Odessa, Ukraine. I can say building anything like that is very costly and almost close to impossible (I'm sure in any country). We got used to be in IT, where innovation and creativity is habitual, it's hardly seen in playground equipment production. Very few companies are open and choose to do this.

Ahh, only in the USA... If this park were in the UK it would be covered in piss, broken beer bottles, used condoms and syringes within a week. :p

I love this! Accessibility has been overlooked lately.

Indeed it most certainly has.

I'm also amazed when a new feature by Apple is released into one of their OS' or a product nobody even thinks about the use case for accessibility ... I have ... yet I've not come across others. Maybe I'm just missing it.

Glad to see someone else finds this a most beautiful thing.

I become more and more concerned as the rights of the disabled are rolled back here in the US. So yes, any little thing that's done for us is welcomed. And despite many of the posts in this thread, this was hardly an insignificant gesture.
