This is what you get for ignoring pro users. We made the apps that sell your iGizmos and you've put us in the back seat.

This is only the beginning of the downfall.

I don't think so...as much as I agree they are letting pro users down, all Apple would have to do at this point is keep people using iPhones and provide services like Music and apps...

They create service.

1. Walmart creates modern day slavery.
2. Exxon doesn't take responsibility for their messes.
3. And the third one...never heard of it, real estate? so probably some shady business jacking up prices to make unaffordable housing.

What services do they do again?

Berkshire Hathaway is a company that invests in companies.

It's getting harder and harder to be an Apple Fanboy these days. Very hard to see a company this special resting on such a huge pile of cash, as well as their laurels.

Yup, capitalism never resulted in anything worthwhile.

What does that have to do with these rankings where a few companies made some more than they did before to move ahead of some other companies?

Ok Apple time to break in to the cellular carrier business
I've always had a hope that their payment plan was to slowly break into this...Google has it, why not Apple? but why do I get the feeling they'd be really stingy on bandwidth...

Not only that, but these day's one can use a Windows PC to create iOS and Mac apps...!

Xcode isn't available for Windows. How are they building and submitting iOS packages? There may be some very limited options but I'm willing to bet 99.9% of developers are on macOS.

Crazy how much money people spend at Walmart. Amazon should open some physical stores, directly across the street from Walmart's most popular locations; just for sh--s and giggles.

I Personally don’t shop at Walmart, as I find them to be sketchy as can be. However, I give them credit, because they are a powerhouse when they offer almost everything under one roof and they have some the most competitive prices in the retail market for electronics, school supplies, groceries, etc. Walmarts are in reach almost everywhere, where other retailers might be further away or don’t offer the prices/products Walmart does.

Take a good look at those numbers in the first post......Apple would have to have quite a Mac buying frenzy to pass #3 on the list....they'd have to sell $13B (yes billions of dollars) per year more than they do now to pass #3.

I definitely think it could be done. Looking at the shipments of 1Q17 it states that 4,217 (Thousands of Units) of macs were sold. That would be 4,217,000 units. If we take into consideration a low average estimate of 1,000 US dollars per sale and subtract the actual cost per unit for Apple, I believe it could easily be done. Especially if they can get to the double digits in growth.

The claims of doom and downfall always give me a real chuckle...Thank you for that.
[doublepost=1526931512][/doublepost]Shouldn't we all be concerned when 3 companies from the healthcare industry are in the top 10???

As I said, I'd be surprised if even a single digit percentage of iOS developers are using a Windows machine.

Given that you apparently were unaware this even existed, I'm not sure how you can quantify your assumption. The company I work for adopted it over XCode because they needed a cross platform solution with as much shared code as possible. In addition Xamarin produces native code for each platform.

Given that there's a huge number of apps that are in the position, I could easily imagine other companies are also looking at cutting costs and increasing code-reuse and, as a result, would consider Xamarin.

According to https://blog.bitrise.io/state-of-app-development-2016, it listed Xamarin at 12%.

Apple dropped because in the last few years they have disappointed many customers with their products.

I am still holding out for a more improved laptop to replace my 6 year old Air. Apple has lagged in the notebook line IMHO.
Apple has record revenues in 2017 and the most profit of any of the companies on the list.

Your post indicates you’re unsure what the list means. Revenues mean very little...it’s all about the profit.

Do you even look at the numbers before speaking?

All time highs in stock, revenues and profit for the first 2 quarters of fiscal 2018.

Less sales, higher prices. Fewer customers.
Well, at least you were only completely wrong on 2 out of 3. They did introduce the higher priced iPhone X.

Worked pretty well all and all with all time highs in the stock, record revenues, and record profits in both Q1 and Q2 of F2018.

Check the numbers to avoid looking silly.

Always remember that Apple is 4th in this revenue list, it is 2X more proftable than the second most profitable company.
