I have waited for the 12" MacBook, hoping it would be the heir to my much missed 12" Powerbook, but I will be going out in a month to buy the latest 13" MBA with i7 and 8GB RAM. More power, more speed, ports and SD reader and minimal extra size and weight, and at 59 years of age, who needs Retina anyway?

I would stretch to the 13" MBPr the performance is insane, and your eye`s will definitely thank you. I have the 2.8 2014, and the 2.9 2015 is very close on the horizon...

It was new when I posted it four days ago. It's been getting a lot of coverage in the Mac press and elsewhere and now it's over 3 million views now...
As far as news, I welcome you to suddenly learn the difference between forums and front page...
