Magic Mouse and the iPad? Think about it!

I see that the standard wireless Keyboard works with the iPad. (Listed under accessory page for iPad) I think the Magic Mouse could have huge upside if it worked as well , think about walking over to you desk (or A desk work , travel) and plugging you iPad wifi or 3g into a stand or even the keyboard dock , and having a magic mouse beside it to surf the web, work in iwork and so on , I know we don't need a mouse but wow i think that would be pretty sweet. More of a desktop feel on the go.....

So you put the iPad in your pocket and carry a large bag with all the accessories... ;)

Might be better off with a MacBook.

As things stand right now, I'd better think how you are going to enjoy using iPad with a keyboard and without a mouse. Typing on keyboard and periodically poking the screen with your finger. My elbows hurt just thinking about this :)

Lot's of food for the Trolls on here, you thought they would have all they need on Engadget.

I mean I don't like Android phones yet I don't feel the urge to hang around on Android forums saying how crap I think it is, why do so many haters seem to be visiting this particular Mac Forum?

Strangely enough I think it's probably OK to be a Mac fanboy on a Mac forum!

Its because you don't have the brains to realize, that you can own another apple product and still think the ipad is a worthless product. And you think there is no critique in the andriod forums? Apparently your faith has blinded you.

I have more than a sneaky suspicion that irony barely registers on most Americans. Sarcasm is a form of irony, but it's just blunt and crude. A 200 year-old frontier nation relishes sarcasm, but the home of the mother tongue with it's cynical and self-deprecating society has a more finely-tuned humor meter. Don't argue words with someone whose profile reads Oxford. ;)

As a long time fan of Monty Python and other programming from the Brits, I can appreciate the distinction as well as the explanation. I do, however, find the use and repetition of the term "sneaky suspicion" rather than "sneaking suspicion" somewhat ironic under the circumstances.

Pretty damn funny. First came here 4/27/2007 to talk up hacking and viruses on macs, then hid under bridge until reemerged 3/12/2010 to again bash an aapl product. But not a troll.

Bigger screen.
Yes. But bigger is not always better.

Faster processor.
Are we sure it's faster? It's speed may be near the same to the iPhone because the A4 needs to render better graphics and bigger screens.

Easier to hold.
You need 2 hands (usually) to hold the iPad. It takes 1 hand to hold the iPhone. I think the iPhone is easier to hold.

I can watch football games on TV, so why do I still want to go to a live game? It's a better experience.
Yes.

Hopefully the iPad is going to inspire future developers. Though the iPad SDK isn't on the iPad.
Apple has managed to port a version of iWork '09 to the iPad, I am sure they can make a mobile version of the iPad SDK for the iPad. And also iLife (sorry, I might be daydreaming here ).

They SHOULD make a Magic Mouse or something for the iPad.:)

It would be fantastic to have XCode on the iPad. But I would imagine it would be a battery killer if you did more than a few compilations though.

This is impressive. I know I use my iPhone less as a phone and more as a personal laptop. Apple discovered that you do not need a laptop to create a great affordable tablet. That is the truely remarkable thing about the iPad.

For those complaining about the OS and the lack of multitasking, you really are missing the point. This thing has to be cheaper than a laptop and have a good battery life. What you are looking for is the traditional tablet PC which has always suffered from the fact that it was a laptop with a touch screen.

There goes my theory that it won't have killer sales....

Remember these are early days; remember when Palm released their WebOS mobile phone where there were big sales in the first 24 hours and then it slowly started to putter out. I'd say with the iPad, I am sitting here working out what problem it is trying to solve or due to my lack of 'what it solves' thus makes me not the target customer?

I couldn't agree more. My iPhone is more or less my instant-on computing device. I see the iPad becoming an even more versatile instant-on, portable computer.

Multitasking doesn't cost money. And whether or not multitasking uses excessive amounts of battery life all depends on how it is implemented/programmed.

I'd say that was a pretty excellent analysis and conclusion.

This is the computer for the proportion of the world that don't want to know about kernels, boot drives, and all the other techy stuff that people on this board probably know a lot more than I about.

There are some people who love understanding computers - the iPad is aimed at everyone else.

I am getting one because i like sitting on the sofa and holding a book in one hand and stroking the cat. You CAN do that with laptop - just like you can drive with your feet, but the experience is not going to be as rewarding.
