The leaks this year seem to be very subdued - Mostly just from Gurman?

Haven't heard much from Ming-Chi Kuo - Did he retire?

Also, anyone remember Jon Tosser? He disappeared quite quickly as well.
Tubby clown prosser gave up after his leaks continued to be fake. Remember his iPhone 14 Pro leak saying it’ll look like the iPhone 4 or the Steve jobs edition glasses 🤣

He’s now pretending to be a serious journalist and turned completely into an Apple shill. Cringe.

Gurman is always wrong but he deletes old posts to cover his tracks.

He’s a chancer.

Cook is glowing with optimism!

I hope the Apple Watch is going to be interesting. My original is on its tenth year, it's time to upgrade! 🤣 Ah and new AirPods please, mine are 4 years old, it's time.

Why? Who is asking for these increases? These phones are already too big.
Agreed. They are basically iPad size now. I have opted for the iPhone SE over the last few years purely because they are the smallest iPhones available. Anything bigger would just be inconvenient to carry in my pocket. I don't see the appeal of bigger screens. Who is watching movies on them? Get a TV!

My guess is it’s on the 9th because the ABC Presidential Debate is on the 10th. Don’t want to compete with that news cycle.
Bad guess. The event would be over long before the debate starts.
The real reason is that the original Apple Watch was announced by Tim Cook on Tuesday, Sept. 9th, 2014, exactly ten years before. Probably going to be a special tenth anniversary edition announced.

Real innovation would be taking the same size screens (or say the 5.8" screen from the X/Xs/11 Pro) and reducing the physical size of the iphone/bezels and reducing weight and giving it great battery life with Pro features!

Huh, that's really interesting. I bet you're right.

To be fair evolutionary over revolutionary is how companies stay relevant and sell products. If it was revolutionary every year then it would cease to be revolutionary anyway. Whilst I’m sure Apple would love everyone to be on a yearly update cycle the fact that you can buy a watch or phone and not have it outdated in a year draws a lot of people to the brand. I agree there could be a bit more, but ultimately this is a smart strategy and what makes Apple products sell so well.
You read far too much into my lampoon….

It's Glowtime. So... finally Apple gets on world-wide trend only 5 years too late.

RGB illuminated phones. Perhaps Tim Apple will allow also ARGB USB-C cables. ;)

Seriously tho. All iPhone events have same scheme, so not expecting tons of ground breaking items on the menu no matter how they spin this. Perhaps new battery housing & stacking is the main thing. What I would most like to see is finally TB/USB4 USB-C on Pros and at least 20Gb/s USB3 Gen3.2x2 on non-Pros for data transfer - especially if they really going with 2TB storage on Max. I expect next year is year of TB5, which is already in the pipeline for Intel, so finger crossed.

Carrier deals are to brainwash people who don't know anything. I assume you can't have the cheapest plan and receive that trade-in? I have 5 lines of T-Mobile essential plan unlimited for $120 monthly.
Cheapest plan is value plus right now. $100 for 4 lines; $125 for 5 lines. Only tiered offer phones.
If you're on FirstNet, it's $40 and you qualify for trade ins up to $1,250.
If you're a first responder, teacher, military, or a veteran, you get 25% off each line on the plan.

I moved 5 teachers over from Verizon and they're paying $29 a line, which includes their discount, a Pro Max for each of them, and the family protection.

Only on Verizon can you not get a good deal on the cheapest plan. They cap your trade in credits at $415.

iPhone 16 Pro, for Pro Gamers™. Maybe Tim's answer to the question "what's Pro about a Pro phone?"

While I wouldn't hold out on buying an iPhone 15 Pro Max right now, I do think its quite likely Apple will announce some new iPhones at this pre-recorded infomercial.

So finally a non pre-recorded keynote again? That would be nice :)
Sorry to burst your bubble, but that's not happening

As much as I would love to see them return to live events as everyone else here, they have pretty much perfected this whole produced/pre-recorded stuff during the onslaught of covid that they're pretty much too far gone from the days of live events

Huh, updates for the regular AirPods (4th gen) and Pro, but yet no mention of the Max; odd

Makes me wonder if because of the fact that they're rumored to only get a change of port from lightning to USB-C that they'll just do a press release for those on their own with how supposedly insignificant of an upgrade they're getting compared to their earbud brethren

Based on 2022 Apple Event, iPhone 14, AirPods, and Watch were the keynotes. Don’t expect anything else besides these three products along with AI being the forefront of this Sept 9th Apple product event. I would like to see the announcement of Apple Ring! Come on Apple make it happen!
