With all the delays, I think there will be an event to introduce them; it’s called WWDC. I wouldn’t be surprised if Apple just pushes it back to then.
An M3 iPad Pro announcement at WWDC also aligns with the way Apple announced the M2 MacBook Air at WWDC in 2022:

M2 MBA was a redesign and general overhaul, with a new chassis and display, and thus got a few minutes of the WWDC video presentation.

I fully expect to see the same for M3 iPads Pro as it's a redesign and new display tech.

M3 iPads Pro will debut at WWDC, along with a new Pencil and two new M2 iPads Air, regular (11") and "all-new" iPad Air Plus (12.9").

Ok digitimes, we already got this from Mark G weeks ago..dont need to copy paste
You do realise that Gurman has changed has missed every single date he has put out right?

He keeps changing the month to cover every base. I'd be Suprised if he knew what date his own parents Birthday is.

The real delay is probably in the marketing department. "How do we sell a device that is barely more capable than the 2018 model in 2024?"

MBP/MBA all have high end software that differentiates them from year to year even with small performance gains. On iPad...you really don't have that.
Unless the planned AI integration makes use of M3 in some way more robustly than M1…

Apple’s gotten REALLY good at sealing the iPad leaks. The iPhone won’t be out until Sept/October and we’ve got blanks with the expected dimensions. They don’t even have a date for iPads. :)

Press release for a launch in May and if only in June, expecting it to be a part of WWDC

Honestly, Apple should release the Airs at least hahah
Since they are not planning to have any events, just release them with a press release. I get there are major delays with Pro due to its design and parts being used, but the Air? Come on, Apple. I thought Tim was a supply-chain guru.

Kinda sleepy on the Apple news cycle these days. Really not hype about these new iPad Pros and am gonna just keep camping on my M1.

I dunno what they could do to generate some serious excitement from me with them outside of a larger 15+in model. I'm kinda half considering going back to using a Cintiq again. Artists want bigger iPads!

Apple is "unlikely" to hold an event to announce new iPad Pro and iPad Air models, according to sources cited by Taiwanese supply chain publication DigiTimes.

Bloomberg's Mark Gurman already said Apple was not planning to hold an event for the new iPads, but he made this claim back in early March, before it was reported that the devices were postponed due to manufacturing delays. With the new iPads now expected to launch in early May, DigiTimes believes Apple is still not planning to hold an event.

Instead of an event, it is likely that Apple will announce the new iPads in a press release shared on its website, as it did for the MacBook Air models with the M3 chip in early March. Gurman believes Apple will announce the new iPads by the second week of May, barring any further delays due to production challenges.

Gurman said two factors contributing to the new iPads being delayed were Apple still finishing iPadOS software development for the new iPads, and advanced manufacturing techniques for the OLED displays that the devices will use.

A recap of the iPad-related products that Apple is expected to announce:

It has been nearly 18 months since Apple last released new iPads, so customers have been waiting a long time for updated models to launch. 2023 was the first year in which Apple did not release any new iPads in the device's history.

Is a thinner enclosure a clever idea when the M3 runs a little hotter than the M2? How much throttling do we want?

OH FOR THE LOVE OF GOD...JUST ANNOUNCE THE DAMN THINGS ALLREADY. This is the most frustrating product release ever.

Heres the deal. I'm not wealthy...far from it, and yes i know to apple that means im worthless... I've been trying to save what i can for 5 months now enough money to get a damn OLED iPad when they finally release as i've wanted an OLED iPad ever since i got my first OLED iPhone.

I can go out right now and buy a brand new top of the line OLED TV today, but no as tempted as i am, i am holding out for the OLED iPad first.

Heres my problem. I know how much the OLED TV is! I have the money for it and i know its avalabe. I dont know when the new OLED Ipads will be avalable and how much they will cost!

ITS HARD TO SAVE UP FOR SOMETHING WHEN YOU DONT KNOW HOW MUCH IT WILL COST AND WHEN THE HELL IT WILL BE OUT!
As someone who several months ago finally bought an OLED TV (gave away my amazing Panasonic Plasma TV) my advice is to buy the OLED TV now and pick up one of the new OLED iPad's on Black Friday. :)

As others have pointed out, I suspect the iPads will be introduced at WWDC.

It makes sense if the case is redesigned in any way, and given the rumors, it will be.

This is actually exciting since it's WWDC, possibly indicating meaningful SOFTWARE changes are coming to iPadOS.

I don't buy the "manufacturing delays" bit at all.
According to rumor spinners their announcement predictions for products are always subjected to manufacturing delays. It's not their fault.

It's how things can be coming in March, then at the earliest late March to April, now been delayed to May. Next it will be possible things announced for WWDC 2024.

I took your advice and got the OLED TV....and the damn thing had a line of dead pixels on it. Its going back and im sticking with my plasma for now

Sorry to hear that. I'd give it another shot. As much as I loved our plasma, it had fallen behind in the tech, particularly with 4K and HDR. I'm a movie buff and would watch them often on the plasma, but now with our OLED (Sony) I'm reinvigorated to really enjoying great films again.
