Apple's annual iPhone event is in the rearview mirror, but rumors suggest the company plans to release a handful of additional products before the year ends.

Will there be another Apple event this October? We discuss the possibility below.

Apple in October

Apple's most recent October events were in 2021 and 2023.

In 2022 and 2024, Apple did not host an October event. Instead, it announced new products with press releases and a series of shorter product videos.

A recap of Apple's hardware announcements:Rumored Products

It is not yet known if Apple plans to host an October event this year, but it seems likely.

Bloomberg's Mark Gurman said iPad Pro models with Apple's M5 chip would be released this year. If that timeframe remains accurate, the likelihood of an October event this year is high, as the standard M1 through M4 chips were all unveiled during events.

Apple is also expected to update the Vision Pro with the M5 chip this year.

Apple's next MacBook Pro models with M5, M5 Pro, and M5 Max chips will reportedly enter mass production soon, but they might not be announced until early 2026.

Gurman expects Apple to update these products between late 2025 and early 2026, and most of them would be fitting for an October event:Gurman's list did not mention the rumored lower-priced MacBook with an A18 Pro or A19 Pro chip, which is also expected to launch in late 2025 or early 2026.

So what are we expecting exactly?
Definitely feels like the iPad Pro with M5 along with the newer Apple TV. Beyond that seems like guesswork. It seems possible we could get the new MacBook Pros with a shipping in 2 weeks type of deal (which would mean November). But we just don't know. It doesn't seem like it'd make much sense to wait until early 2026 for MacBook Pros if we're getting the redesigned thinner models with OLED later in the year. But who knows?

I hope for a new iPad Pro that has a portrait faceid camera again. The new design on the side is not good for left handed people who block the camera when holding. Also would buy a new Apple TV.

I prefer this photo of Tim

I really want this to be a Mac event with the budget, colourful MacBook and an affordable Studio Display.

Then throw in the new MacBook Pro and a high end Studio Display.

That would Cook

If it's just a slightly faster iPad Pro and Apple TV, then I don't think Apple would hold an event just for that, just issue a press realize. I still have serious doubts about seeing an updated AVP this year, but anything is possible.

Or, if you're not interested in an OLED touchscreen and a thinner device and want a screen without burn-in, good speakers and good battery life, you should definitely get the M5 MacBook Pro.

Even if all of those products get released this year, it sounds like basically spec bumps. Just do press releases, maybe spread over a few days for some excitement. Still release the cheesy videos showing all the new features, but I don't see the need of a full event, especially if only a few of those rumored products are updated.

I hate my Alexa device. Wouldn't mind giving Homepod mini a shot
I don't hate mine, but was not impressed with Alexa Plus so backed out. I have quite a few of them around the house and do plan on replacing some with HomePod mini's, but have a couple with screens and was waiting on a screen version.

Not sure why we need another new Apple TV? So it can play games better? Nobody plays games on the Apple TV.

And a new HomePod to run Apple Intelligence? It’s not even something that is released yet.

These decisions seem like cash grabs

I’m figuring it all depends on two things: Apple’s desire to have more new products out for the 2025 holiday season… and whether the supply chain can make the deadline.

So If I were to trade-in a 4 year old iPad Pro for store credit or something, I should do it before this event before they lower the trade-in value?
You’ve answered your own question… at least if you can live without your iPad Pro for anything ranging from two to six months.

I'm really looking for an excuse to upgrade my 2020 iPad Pro but I don't think this is going to be it. Fingers crossed though.

I have the 2021 Apple TV, and while it still works, my remote is still USB-A. If there is a new Apple TV coming, it might be worth getting just for the faster chip and the USB-C remote. I still say the Apple TV is their best product, but the software could be so much better.
