That's the only good news here. I HATE HATE HATE USBC
My PC notebook has USB-C and I have been using it for 5 years. It is the worst designed connector ever in my opinion. I have to hold the power cable just right into the port to get the computer to charge reliably. Why is the plug female instead of male, to me that is its worst design issue? I know I am a minority on this site with this opinion, as so many seem to be obsessed with USB-C. Lightening may allow slower data connectivity than USB-C, but Lightening is a more reliable connector.

The Pro was more interesting than expected, but the regular iPhone 14 was a joke.

It's literally the same design, display and processor as last year, but with a slight camera upgrade. Giving people 60 Hz at those prices is a joke in 2022/2023 when even 180$ Androids ship with 90 Hz OLED displays.
Max size in a non-pro model is a pretty big deal IMO.

So the 13 and 12 are now the same price in the UK? Make it make sense. Can’t see any price drop of the 13? Or it’s very minimal if so.

you know what... I really don't like these pre-recorded events lol. they're too sterile/perfect. they don't really add flare to the products. I miss the roar of the crowd. they better bring back in-person events next year.

products look sick though!

Did Apple just tease us with a little preview of Severance?

Right at the end of the webcast. It sounded like a tiny snip of the theme music and a shot of what appeared to be Helly in front of subway doors.

why am i still so ticked about the removal of SIM tray…not that i travel right now but i'd like to in the future

I can see a few reasons other than traveling:

- If your phone breaks, you can no longer transfer your number to a backup without involving the carrier (even if the carrier supports iCloud transfer, you need to confirm on the old phone, so not possible if it's broken)

- You can no longer transfer your number to a non-Apple phone without involving the carrier

- There are still many prepaid and MVNO plans that don't support eSIM

- The removal of the SIM slot leaves you at the mercy of the carriers, and they will make you pay. Not to mention having to deal with their atrocious customer support.
