I've watched a few videos comparing the 3x to the 5x on the Pro and Pro Max. It seems the consensus is the Pro is better, meaning more detail, in the lower range and the Pro Max is better at anything above 5x.

Although its all semantics to me. I am not, and will never be, a Pro level photographer. Although, if I wanted to take Pro level photos I would buy a camera and not rely on my phone.

Not to say, I'm not excited to have a better camera system then my iPhone 11 currently provides.

Who knows, maybe some of the photos I take with my 15 Pro will be good enough to print out and put on my wall.

You have a 14 Pro right? I think the cameras in that and the 15 Pro are exactly the same.
Yep, I have a 14 Pro Max. And yeah I agree, the cameras on that and the 15 Pros do not seem that different (except for minor things like the 5x optical zoom lens which is is exclusive only to the 15 Pro Max, and the 3D “Spatial Video” recording).

I’m not a Pro photographer either, but I wasn’t a really big fan of the 14 Pro Max cameras to be honest. The HDR and the over-sharpening process is just way too aggressive and makes the pictures look quite unnatural IMO :)

I wasn’t planning on upgrading to the 15 series anyways since I don’t upgrade every year, so I’ll probably hold off for the next 4-5 years or something like that. That being said, the improvements on the 15 models over the 14 in general seem nice to have, but not really worth upgrading to me. Though I can definitely see it being more appealing to folks who are coming from older models which is fair.

Hope you enjoy your new 15 Pro 😁💕

Thank you!!

And yes I agree with your assessments of the 14Pro vs 15Pro cameras and the over processing too.

I am hoping the 15Pro will get me through the next 3-4 years and my next upgrade will be a phone with no cutout or hole.
