I really want the black Ultra, but I will scuff it.

I beat the ever loving tar out of mine and it has maybe only 1 or 2 small marks. I mean, it's DLC coated. I've sold luxury watches for over a decade and properly-coated watches last (DLC not PVD, mind you).

PVD is garbage. Properly coated DLC pieces will take the paint off of OTHER things before the DLC coating gets damaged.

I've literally scraped mine on concrete with nothing to show for it.

You have to remember that most scratches on the black DLC are generally able to be removed with just wiping them off since it's not the DLC that's damaged - but it's something from the object that hit the DLC rubbing off on it.
