I wonder how this will impact their release cycles. They make the smallest possible updates and upgrades to iPhones just enough to make people want to upgrade to the new ones they do not need. I wonder what they will do with Macs. Surely, they do not want to do hardware updates and upgrades - still stuck with 720p FaceTime and used to be 480p in MacBook. Hope they change their policies regarding providing disgustingly incremental upgrades and start providing substantial upgrades in their release cycles.

I do hope they make the laptop great again with some empathy towards the customer who is paying heard-earned money by giving more value for their money and to lend a healing touch with regards to pricing.

Not going to happen. They are going to do as little as they possibly can. Just look at their current line up. Most of their desktops are 1 or more CPU generations back, integrated intel graphics, spinning rust hard drives.

This is about ending comparisons between Apple computers and the rest of the computing industry.

Anyone else feel bad for giving Apple so much **** over the years for not refreshing their Mac lineup as often as consumers wanted when 90% of it was down to Intel's meandering roadmap? The whole trashcan/Mac Pro fiasco is exempt from this.
No. Intel had better CPUs, Apple chose not to use them.

Hopefully we’ll get Intel Tigerlake H-Series next year with MiniLED before the 16 inch switches to ARM.

Shame there will be no redesign of the form factor for the first AS Macs.
It would be if that turns out to be true. I would replace my macbook in a flash, but not interested in big laptops. If not this time then with luck a miniature one next year. Still interesting to watch though.

In need of a new MacBook. Hopefully a 12” refresh is coming!
Yeah you definitely need ANOTHER macbook with a mobile processor that can't handle basic tasks besides sitting in starbucks on facebook acting like you're working lmao
