We? You can speak for yourself, I always look forward to these types of events, because generally, we really never know what to expect, and any hardware is merely a bonus for an event that may not necessarily be solely focused on hardware like the fall keynote is. Try staying open minded, that way you don’t set yourself up for disappointment for something that’s not guaranteed.
You mean like the September keynote, which was a huge disappointment? Everyone hyped that event up and we got a Macbook Air with failing keys, a Mac Mini that was massively expensive and suffered from thermal throttling and an iPad Pro that looked amazing but costs a bomb. My expectations are set to realistic, don't worry about that.

It's annoying when a company doesn't release the exact products I desire on my precise timeframe.

It's far, far more annoying when I have to sort through a thousand practically identical comments from people complaining uselessly about companies doing so. All I want is to find actual, valuable discussion about this event and the things which may be announced. Is that really so much to ask?

I enjoyed the keynote, I thought the Series 4 Apple Watch was the real highlight, and I’m enjoying the Max for everything it has to offer with a larger display. Again, you can’t speak for the majority, and everybody else might view things differently depending what they appreciate it from the keynote itself.

One analyst expects 100M subs. Lol. But even he said only if Apple does it right and makes key acquisitions to add existing content to it.

This isn’t likely at all. Netflix boasts every screen imaginable and barely tops that. Plus I don’t see Apple doing more than pulling strings as it’ll be a wait and see thing. It’s not as if they’re throwing their might at this.

Between wsj, local paper, and a couple of business ones (all paid for at work not me) I don’t have time for it. But what I really don’t like is news being curated for me. And the ones going in with Apple are likely to be second rate anyway desperate enough to give Apple 50 percent.

Again the big service driver for Apple is google and AppleCare. Apple doesn’t exactly have a stellar history of doing these kinds of things and that’s the side you should always err on. It’s Apple being desperate. It’s not even plan A as those talks with content providers failed long ago.

In an average year, Apple holds three to four events. There's usually a spring event in March, the Worldwide Developers Conference in June, a September event that's focused on iPhone and Apple Watch, and sometimes an October event if there are iPads or Macs expected in the fall.

In this guide, we're keeping track of all of the Apple events that are on the horizon and what we're expecting to see at each one, so make sure to check back in regularly.

March 25 Event

Apple's first event of the year will take place on Monday, March 25. According to rumors, Apple plans to focus on services at this event, introducing both a new Apple News service and a TV service. Here's what we're expecting to see:

Apple News Service

Apple is working on a $9.99 per month subscription news service that would give Apple News users unlimited access to stories from paywalled sites like The New York Times and the Washington Post.

This service is also expected to include a magazine element, similar to the service offered by Texture, the magazine app that Apple bought in 2018. The same $9.99 fee for accessing news services may also provide access to unlimited magazines from participating publishers, but it's not yet clear if that will all fall under a single fee.

Not all news sites are on board yet because Apple wants 50 percent of all subscription revenue, but magazine publishers are embracing Apple's plan. Regardless of how the services are presented, expect to see Apple announce Apple News subscriptions for paywalled news and magazines.

Streaming TV Service

Apple is also working on a streaming TV service that will include the more than two dozen TV shows and movies that it has in the works, along with access to subscription content from other cable providers.

There's no word on what this service will cost, but Apple will introduce it at the March event before launching it later in the year, perhaps in summer or fall. Multiple celebrities like Jennifer Aniston, Steve Carell, and Jennifer Garner - who are starring in Apple's original television shows - have been invited to the event and are expected to attend.

iOS 12.2

The iOS 12.2 beta that's being tested right now already has hints of the Apple News service in it, and Apple is going to release the iOS 12.2 update right after the event takes place to give people access to the new Apple News subscription service.

Along with access to this subscription service, iOS 12.2 brings Apple News to Canada, offers new Animoji characters, includes HomeKit TV support for third-party TVs, and has dozens of other smaller tweaks and changes outlined in our iOS 12.2 tidbits post.

Hardware

We're expecting minor updates for a number of Apple products, including the iPad mini, iPad, AirPods, and iPod touch, and the launch of the AirPower is rumored to be on the horizon.

Rumors have said that Apple won't include these announcements in the event because of its focus on services, but it's still possible we'll hear a few words about them, and if not, Apple could choose to release all of these updates shortly after the event via press release.

Event Details

The March 25 event will take place at 10:00 a.m. Pacific Time (1:00 p.m. Eastern Time) at the Steve Jobs Theater on the Apple Park campus. Apple plans to live stream the event on its website and through the Events app on the Apple TV.

[doublepost=1552422860][/doublepost]Quick question: Do we know if the news service and the tv service will be global or just launching only in the USA again? Has anyone heard/read any rumours regarding this? If they restrict this to just the USA, it will suck big time!!!

If AAPL was being run by an Average Joe, AAPL would focus on ONE thing & ONE thing ONLY for it's Video Steaming Service ... High-Bit-Rate 1080p "Live Sports" !

AND, that Average Joe's "strategy" would generate more Excitement & Enthusiasm than any "copy-cat" service AAPL will announce on March 25th !
Apple's brand is aspirational, and not aligned with sitting on your butt for hours drinking beer and watching sports. Plus, buying the rights for that would be even more expensive than paying for original content. ESPN is bleeding cash right now, after all, as people cut cable.

The biggest reason to have cable is live sports, and that doesn't prevent people from flocking away from it.

You don’t have to
Put people on ignore list.

If the event is about their subscription services, including music, and news and magazines, I can see them releasing updated devices to peruse the subscribed content. New iPad and iPad mini are great candidate devices for a magazine subscription service and to a lesser extent for a movie and series streaming service. AirPods are the equivalent for music.

I also don't want to spend an hour adding 30 people to my ignore list. They could save themselves and me time but simply refraining from hijacking threads.

Saying things you don't like, or in a way you don't care for, about the topic at hand is not hijacking.

A lot of people are pretty pissed about where Apple is and what they "are" right now.
That's bound to lead to some frustration, cynical takes and sarcasm.

Yes I don't see how the services themselves sustain an announcement of more than 15 minutes, and that includes 10 minutes of making promises about content that doesn't exist yet.
