I wonder what the hold up was on the square design, and if its still coming next year.

The series 6 was already like a series 5.5
series 7 is series 5.75

So just to clarify: no new health tracking, same SoC as previous and new more boring colors.
I mean... wow.
A slightly larger face, and new faster charging. Oh and they are keeping the Series 3, which was objectively the WORST Apple Watch ever in terms of cost to value and glitch free user experience.
That's the Apple Watch lineup for 2021/22.

Apple is clearly treating the watch like iPhone with yearly updates. I‘m not sure why. It’s pretty clear Apple didn’t really have anything new to announce. This years update could have been just a press release. And it’s insulting that the series 3 still exists and neither the series 3 or SE got a price drop.

If Apple really wanted to expand the Watch market they would have reduced the price of the series 3 to $99.

Damn I hate the music on these events, in my opinion none of the music really fits.

I can't be the only one?!

EDIT: Still haven't quite understood who the Apple Watch is for, is it aimed towards active people? I will still keep on wearing automatics..

Lol no square watch and their keeping the S3.. Looks like the S7 is a big yawn IMO. I'll bet the S7 get features through software that other watches don't get to help try to get people to justify the update. I'd say anyone wanting to jump from S3/S4 or lower is better off trying to pickup a S6 that will be discounted when the S7 is released..
