It' is likely using the same algorithm as their portrait photos option that has the same problem. The fact it does it while ding 4K and live is impressive enough (Procesing power).

Am i the only one that feels like making the notch smaller actually makes it appear bigger to your eyes as it obviously leaves more space on each side, resulting in it standing out even more
That gold is impressive, Hoping the silver isn't coated. I always liked the ability to polish back the silver phones with a wheel polish such as Mothers, and kill the scratches.
