Is transit maps working for anyone in Sydney yet?

Nothing for me yet.

I did notice that on my recent trip to New York, when I arrived I received a notification on my lock screen from the Maps app telling me that Transit directions were available for New York City, so I'm assuming that we'll get the same here in Sydney when it's finally completed soon.

Sydney: trip home from Uni.
Maps: 'Directions Not Available. A route could not be determined between these locations'.
Google Maps: Trip by Bus, Trip by Rail, Link to Uber App.

Maps is so far behind in so many ways.

Just because Google map has those information doesn't mean they're correct. Their bus timetable in Sydney is never accurate.

Was a tad bit excited for this. Checked the website and it's gone. Guess it wasn't ready....

Meanwhile, I've grown tired of endlessly trying to configure a simply home address in Maps to no avail.

Google map did not offer this feature in almost all cities in 2010. So please stop exaggerating.
sarcasm is hard for some people.

google map started offering public transit routing info in 2005, it was fully integrated into google map in 2007. regarding number of cities...blah blah, whatever. apple is currently way behind in this category. for their mapping to be a full solution in the face of google's, they've gotta up their cities and counties faster. it just can't compete (now, or compared to google in 2010).

Still nothing for Boston here for me. Hopefully soon! On my recent trip to DC, I got the same thing - a notification telling me that transit was available. And in my experience, it was super helpful while I was there.

Yep, looks as though Apple has removed the two new cities from their website. I would expect Boston and Sydney are the cities coming next, but it doesn't look like now is when.
I still see them on the web, but transit directions for Boston still aren't working.

Can't wait for Montreal, but then again every time Apple adds 1 feature in Maps, Google adds 3.
At this point, there's still no reason for me to use Maps for transit directions.

Apple has now updated the iOS page with a note that Boston and Sydney are coming in October.

This doesn't seem to be very useful for every day commuting. If I need to see transit info to a destination I don't typically travel to, I will probably use it. But, for train and bus times there are better options in Sydney such as Tripview.
