Only a matter of time before all the devices get OLED. MacBook Air might be a few years away. Even if its gets OLED, highly doubt that it will have ProMotion. But price of the MacBook Air should remain the same despite the display upgrade.

I will instantly buy a new iPad mini ONLY IF Apple puts in it the latest "A" series CPU and min 12 GB of RAM, 120Hz OLED screen.

My iPad Pro M4 has a great screen, but then I also thought my iPad Pro M1 had a great screen, good enough. But if OLED can help reduce the weight and thickness (but particularly the weight) of the MacBook Pro, even if only slightly, and perhaps further increase battery life or allow for a smaller, lighter battery, that would be great. We all want as good a screen as possible, but the difference between very good and great is not always meaningful or apparent. I do also think the screens with ProMotion do look nicer, but again, it's not always evident or needed.

OLED is the best display tech out there so this is good news. Thank goodness we’re getting rid of the ancient IPS and awful MiniLED displays!

Apple is developing versions of the iPad mini, iPad Air, MacBook Pro, and MacBook Air with OLED displays, according to Bloomberg. Apple already uses OLED displays in the iPad Pro, and has plans to expand the technology to additional devices in the coming months and years.

The iPad mini will get an OLED display as soon as 2026, and improved water resistance is also a possibility.

Apple does not plan to bring OLED technology to the iPad Air in 2026, and the model coming next spring will continue to use an LCD display. While the iPad Air will get OLED at a later date, it probably won't happen until at least 2027.

Eventually, Apple will sell the iPad Pro, iPad Air, and iPad mini all with OLED displays, but there are no plans to add OLED to the low-cost iPad.

The MacBook Pro will be updated with an OLED display when it is next updated, perhaps as soon as 2026. After adding an OLED display to the MacBook Pro, Apple will bring OLED to the MacBook Air. Apple has started early work on an OLED MacBook Air, but it isn't expected to see a launch until 2028 at the earliest.

The version of the MacBook Air planned for spring 2026 will continue to feature an LCD display.

I wish for LTPO OLED display with always-on 1Hz and also Qi2 magnetic wireless charging, and some kind of magnetic VESA-like (e.g. Epresso display stand) on all the iPad line-up : it would enable new use cases for home automation

Currently, OLED is the only option to go beyond LCD's performance and specs until Micro-LED comes out but I'm still worried about the burn-in issue even with Tandem OLED which makes it impossible to make 32 inch size monitor.

Interesting. But i suspect that besides iPad only the MBP will get OLED in 2027 at a nice price increase

The far more interesting point is will the AIR finally get XDR displays similar to current MBP? Thats would be the big upgrade as for most Apps the M5 more than fast enough and portability and weight will get more important

ipad mini is such a great little device if it had OLED and 120hz it would be awesome. it's my on go device until foldable iphone is here

OLED has been out for years now i think they have the burn in figured out.
My Asus Laptop has OLED i like it a lot. Now onto MBP with OLED for next purchase.
Shut the thing down once in a while take a break turn screens off problem solved.
Not a 24/7 operator here!...:)
I see and hear your point, but iPads are inherently different devices that are used much differently- you’re not showing the same Excel sheet on it all day

I really prefer tried and true tech. I love my 14" M1 Pro MBP. I honestly cannot imagine a better display than it has. And I have had burn-in with OLED phones before. I'd just go with what works well already.
I feel the same. I have a 14” m3 pro MBP. And im on my 2nd OLED tv. I love OLED but, Apple’s mini led is fantastic. The high dimming zone count and minimal blooming makes for very close contrast to OLED without the burn in risk. This is why i said earlier in this thread that Id take the hand me down proven display of the current pros in the Air if Apple wants to stick the more expensive tandem oleds into the pros.
