So much waited for Korea launch... but why they don't list Korea as one of country...
Korea has so much user and if launched have huge potentials...

I wonder how many they actually sold

And how many of those have already been returned
Probably too many. Doubt many will find a day to day use case. Many buy for fun, just to test the product.

Also I think Apple made a marketing error. They marketed it with M2 chip. Shortly after, M3 came out and then M4 came out. It is “outdated” in a sense already.

If they marketed it as a separate chip, no one will compare it with m4 and it will not be seen as outdated.

Singapore is listed and the sales thus far has been poor

Good to know. Really waiting for it to be available in more countries.

I know that they charge a local markup to cover shipping, currency conversion, local wages, etc… but the roughly 12% on a product this expensive works out to be $754 AUD or approx $500 USD. A hefty chunk! A whole iPad And some spare change left.

As far as I‘m aware you can’t even access the metaverse.

“The Vision Pro is priced at $3,499 in the United States, and has similar pricing in local currency in the countries where it is set to launch.”

I wish I could share your optimism, but in France it starts at 3,999€, which is 4,292$ at the current exchange rates. So apart from a few die-hard geeks or influencers, I do not expect them to fly off the shelves here.

You have plenty of people with money in Paris. It will sell.

We shall know soon enough.

For now it is a dumb investment and money burnt, as the platform lacks any significant market presence.

Apple should have started with cheaper models to gain both the market and devs first, IMO.

US$3499 = AU$5,243.60, but GST here is 10%, and GST to be included in the quoted price. That translates to AU$5,767.96, which is a lot closer to the $5999 it's going to sell for.

They have a specific rate just for this device?? Very strange …
Probably they are trying to protect from the risk of return devices... so with that "rate" they try to cover the value lost from a returned item in their warehouse vs the original value.

Whilst of course a much cheaper (less than half price) $1500 stripped down model would of course sell better than a $3500 model (hey it's just maths) It's still not in any way a consumer product.
Is the majority of "normal folk" have no interest whatsoever strapping a Meta Quest 3 for $500 to their face, and see it as something that simply dont need or want in their life, as they are more than happy with their phones/tablet/laptops/TV
You've not going to convince these people with a $1500 model either.

People who are currently into VR (perhaps with a Quest 3) and are enjoying all it can do, may as they are "into the experience" push themselves to a $1500 if it's a LOT better than their $500 model.
But that's not the vast majority.

Apple today told developers that it is expanding the Vision Pro App Store to new markets ahead of when the device is set to launch in additional countries. Since its February launch, the Vision Pro has been limited to buyers in the United States, but at WWDC, Apple announced plans to bring it to eight new markets.

The Apple Vision Pro will launch in China, Hong Kong, Japan, and Singapore on Friday, June 28, and it will expand to Australia, Canada, France, Germany, and the United Kingdom on July 12. Pre-orders for the Vision Pro for the first wave launch countries started on June 13, while pre-orders for the second wave launch countries will begin on June 28.

Apple says that developers can expect their apps and games to be automatically available on the App Store in regions selected through App Store Connect. visionOS app availability and the availability of iPad and iPhone apps on the headset can be managed through the App Store Connect interface.

The Vision Pro is priced at $3,499 in the United States, and has similar pricing in local currency in the countries where it is set to launch.

When this device is released and especially be used in the medical field, Engineering field, architectural field, and other professional field where many businesses are thriving. Well, woe to those who are poor! They can't afford to pay professionals who will use this tremendously expensive device! Only those who have the capacity will live on this harsh planet. Millionaires will always be and forever be. While the ones who are needy will be forever be a needy.

Only problem being PC's rule is such industries.
Poor countries don’t even have the capacity to have PCs, and those with corrupt governments will likely focus more on PC industries rather than adapting to new technologies that could significantly impact their greediness.

What’s the developer story here? With breaking news of apple’s capricious decision to not approve an iDOS update (despite tons of C64 emulators in the store) and despite being unable to articulate to the developer why there is a distinction here, and what if anything can be changed to get the submission approved, who is really gonna take the risk on their platforms going forward? This magical thinking is why the developer story, so crucial to the AVP success, is not solidifying. Very concerning to watch Apple shoot themselves in the foot repeatedly. Said it before and I’ll say it again, it’s the principal skinner meme. They could’ve self-regulated but opted for the ham-fisted attempts by various governing bodies across the world. What are the even doing here pushing it out to more countries and expecting a different reception. I’m at a loss. Why?!
The developer story is “Develop one of the million types of apps that are not ‘DOS emulator’”.

There’s no area that has huge potential as Apple’s only has 500,000 to go around. If they’ve sold over 250,000 in the US, they have (with returns) less than 250,000 left. Once those are sold, that’s it until Sony can get them more lenses.

The most they can sell in ANY country other than the US is less than they’ve sold in the US.
