With Apple Silicon, this is a year we need to see some software innovation.

Mac has outsold iPad several, several times.
Mac revenue IS normally higher than iPad revenue. However, as far as outselling (i.e. one product selling more units than another) the iPad line has consistently outsold the Mac line year over year. By a fairly wide margin.

My GOD nearly $100 billion in one quarter. How long until apple has $1 trillion in annual revenue?

That's not the relevant point. The revenue is.

Um... it's easy for any company to have record-breaking profits every year when nobody is accounting for inflation. Duh. Numbers keep going up, but those numbers are worth less and less. So stupid that people don't understand this.

Nearly $100 billion in what is usually one of the slowest quarters of the year, during period of record high inflation and world wide price gouging.

I hope an analyst asks about the letter by over 100 film makers to Tim Cook about whether Apple will publicly stand by the use of Final Cut Pro in TV and film production.

Partially because Tim mentioned Final Cut Pro in the April 2020 analysts call:
"Since early March, we've seen unprecedented demand for our Pro Apps from students, enthusiasts and creative professionals." - Tim Cook - https://www.zdnet.com/article/apple-q2-2020-five-things-you-need-to-know/

The relevant point is that the platform with the greatest number of individual users is where Apple’s focus is and will be. iPhone first, iPad second, (including services for iPad and iPhone), THEN Mac. The Mac will sell about 20 million this year, maybe a little more. The iPad will sell 20 million before June.

and how does this make my life better?
Pretty much this. TBF, with that much money, you probably don't have to worry about them disappearing (unlike say Sega, Palm OS.. of which I'm still a big fan of the latter), which means losing or having much less levels of support and new products.

I use Android and it's great to hear that it's all over the world, but at the end of the day, this sort of "circle of ego stroking" does me no good if things don't get any better, or could possibly get worse. With all of these great earnings quarters Apple has, it's just more ammo for their critics. They get to say "Apple is a $2 trillion company", or had kickass earnings, but still can't get/fix some of the basic stuff right.

Shocking. They release products that people actually want and people buy them. Who would have thought that would ever be a winning business model?

Given that comparable math errors are often made in earnest and seen online, I for one did not suspect you were being sarcastic.

He wasn't saying he was being sarcastic about the math itself but the whole notion that Apple would/should give everyone in the world money and iPhones ?

What do you mean ‘publicly stand by FCPX in film production’?
