I don't. And I don't know personally any one that does. They are legacy ports. Apple made a bold step into the future a few years ago and it looks like they are about to nervously jump back. Shame.
Except they're not legacy ports at all. They're an extremely common mode of storage on professional cameras and, thus, are quite relevant to the "Pro" segment Apple claims to target with these computers.

Such trash journalism. This has nothing to do with expected demand. There have been dozens of other reports about the difficulty of securing the mini-LED displays. They are adding extra suppliers wherever they can just to meet the minimum needed.

I want all the rumored specs
- Super power M1X
- Super Graphic performance
- MiniLed display
- super battery performance
- more ports

+ an updated improved Touch Bar with more high and better UX ... but it is obvious it will never happen as Apple is pushing for Mac integration with iPads in iOS 15 and Monterrey, something that is really cool, but it shouldn't kill the touichbar

Imagine if after all these months of hype the 14” still rolls out with a basic 8/256 config.
This! I'm a huge Apple fan but that is one of the big issues I have with them. They provide the bare minimum specs at a premium and then go nuts on the price when you increase specs.

Like a lot of people I'm working from home a lot, and likely will continue to do 1-2 days per week working from home.

I have a MBA M1 8/256 and I love it. I do a lot of video editing, and it beats my MBP 15 from 2017 with maxed out CPU, RAM & SSD plus eGPU by a country mile and then some. Quietly and cooly. And cheaply!

Having an HDMI port built in, so it doesn't require a dongle, would be welcome - but not crucial - I have a dongle that gives me HDMI, SD slot and 3x USB 3 sockets plus power pass through. It's just a bit unsightly.

I use the SD slot a lot because my cameras use SD cards.

I would love to see as a minimum 2 USB C ports on each side of the new MBP, with at least 1 of those in each side being TB3 or TB4.

When video editing & processing I use a pretty high speed external SSD. A short 10 minute video edit generates around 100Gb of working & cache files. My external SSD tanks along at about 3 Gbytes per second when going flat out and used to get very hot. I've now got one with a big aluminium heat sink and a small fan, because it needs it.

I use an external keyboard & mouse (Apple - PLEASE fix that annoying BT lost connection bug with your very own magic mouse - it's a right PITA!) and an external 32" 5K monitor Fed by HDMI.

A new MBP M1X/M2 with a min of 16/512 and built in HDMI & SD slot would be something I'd very much buy on day 1!!

I have a great editing experience now. It could be superb with just these minor additions.

SD Slots would be so nice. I was using usb-c and gave up because I hated having to fetch the cable. Forget about wifi, which is what apple suggests, it's so annoying to use wifi direct and camera interfaces range from terrible to mediocre. My solution now is I have a hub that has a sd card slot in it and it's always plugged in to my monitor so when I connect my MacBook to my monitor, I get access to the sd slot. Would be nice to not have to connect it to the monitor or deal with wires

You do realize that SD is a growing standard. The new SD UC format will store more data than the main drive in your Mac. Up to 128 TB.

Which is a really good reason for Apple not to do it.

And if they are removing the touchbar, are they leaving the low-end 13 inch macbook pro with touchbar on the shelves? Having this "premium" feature on the lower speced model would seem odd, even for a short time.

Apple car (battery) news, ramp up for added production (on an already very anticipated product) news, yet Apple’s stock just opened its morning session with a half point gap down.
Can someone get these damn stories on Twitter, over to the Wall Street Journal and in front of CNBC? I need that half point back 😀
They probably know something we don’t, Disney took a colossal dip this morning also

Been waiting forever for the MBP upgrade and imho announcement comes in November, ships late December for mid January delivery. HIGH DEMAND and Stock shortages result in many back orders. I will Pre order in advance. I’m just hoping it has everything that’s been rumored.

Sounds like Apple will be able to charge premium prices for the new laptops.
The latest PC numbers show Apple with < 10% of the laptop market. That can't sit well with Apple. They're going to try to move them while they are ahead of Intel.

I'd bet, instead, Apple prices the standard configs aggressively (for Apple), but then wallops the BTO (extra cores == $$) users, because people who really need 20/40 cores will realize they can afford it.
