It was a risky move by Apple that didn't pay off the first few hours

Many here predicted such a huge amount of people would crash the server and well, we did

Just hope in the future that Apple can prepare better

If they did 'in-store activation' last year at 6PM, many iPhone buyers would need some blankets and stay one more night.

I was waiting since 4:30 am, get in and of course the person I go to get the phone is the worst teller, in fact she didn't even work there she was just banging the manager, took me longer than 15 minutes I know that, oh well at least I got mine and didn't have any other activation problems like others did when the servers got full

4:30am? You really want one THAT badly?

More power to you. I just couldn't get myself to do that.

I was at my Apple store the night before. Slept in the parking lot and got in line at about 5:30 in the morning with everyone else. My girlfriend and I were within the first 20 people in line and we didn't get out of there until about an hour and a half after the doors opened. We got in there at 8:05 but we stood at the front of the line for almost and hour. Didn't even leave with the phones activated. Oh well. We got them activated later that night when the servers calmed down. Enjoying the phone now. :)
