Were any third party headphones identifying as fake airpods (to the iPhone, not to the customer) in order to make the seamless device switching work?

If so, does the alert effectively break that or is it a one-time thing?

Counterfeits are bad, but if a headphone manufacturer was just working to give Apple users the best possible experience... it would suck if Apple broke that.
