Given the tremendous success of the AW, I don’t think anyone at Apple is fretting about consumers thinking they’re ugly, let alone doing something about it.

Fitbit! three delaminated bands were replaced. Not good design.

Apple Watch is fine design. Hence no changes. Round designs other tried just dont maximise screen real estate for apps and messages. I initially bought an AW as a toy but quickly replaced my regular watch. Now have two. The older one is used when outside gardening as I couldnt bring myself to do the usual handing down of old tech to friends.
