Since Im quite new in the Mac world, can you give a bit more info on what the Apple Expo in Paris is all about?

Can consumers visit the place? What are the ticket prices like? Can you buy Apple products there at a better price? How long does it last?

Thanks in advance! :D

Also Weta Digital are already using a bunch of these rack mounted as a render farm for King Kong because they aren't allowed to take them out of the building in case someone sees them, I should know, I live in Wellington..

I have a VERY hard time believing all that. Guess we will have to wait and see.
Wasn´t that a joke?

New PowerMac at WWDC, new Powerbook at Paris?

Lets hope for it! Last time it took 10 month before updated PBs arrived. Hopefully this time they update them faster. But I would not hold my breath.

Powermacs should be updated LATEST at WWDC. But there are hints for earlier updates like in April

Cheers

no macworld nyc this year?

MacWorld on the East coast moved to Boston 2004. IDG originally started MacWorld in Boston. It moved because of limited space. The majority complained because it was held at two locations. The transportation was terrible due to the Big Dig. IDG left New York, because it had just become too expensive. So it it was moved to its original home. Sadly Steve's desire for control has kept Apple away. My desire is the the Boston show will grow and it will cause Apple to return.

General malaise within the industry. Comdex was cancelled two years in a row, and I remember when it was HUGE. Apple probably feels over-reached with these conventions.

Yeah, well, it's at the Hynes this year - that's where they put the little conferences. Linux world packed it to the gills this year - we'll see how MacWorld does.

It's a much nicer venue than that aircraft hanger we were in last year, but it's also not too big for two convention centers.

No, Steve Jobs is a baby and is willing to say FU to his users who don't feel like flying 3000 miles to his conference over IDG's flight from the hellhole that is Javitz.

Way to build the customer base there, Steve-O.

I do have concerns at times about the current mental status of Steve. All of his customers aren't in California and France.
