I like how they cant perspective right on the drawing. I wouldn't have even considered it had I been the one to draw it.

RE: Cooking on iStove

Q: Dear Steve, I love Apple products, especially the iStove. However, when I try to hold the iSkillet by its handle on the iStove, the heat isn't always consistent. Thank you (I hope I get a response, ha ha). - Bob

A: Bob, just don't hold it that way. - Steve

The future

I think it should be obvious that some form of Kinect and Move from Sony is the future. Combining the innovation of both will allow for virtually any interaction. Move allows things that Kinect simply cannot achieve and vice versa. Combining them = amazing. I would not be surprised if the leaders in movement, Nintendo, don't come out with something like this for the Wii 2 and make MS and Sony look a generation behind again in this technology.

As far as toasters and such...I'll pass. And so will Apple unless they actually make it better.

Doesnt this remind some people of the scene in back to the future ii where they are in the futuristic kitchen? lol

on another note, apple have some seriously weird patents lol

I'm somewhat upset that I wasn't credited for this tip. I emailed the story this morning, nearly 27 hours after it was posted by InformationWeek. I'm pretty sure MacRumors had overlooked this considering that they didn't even know about the patents from earlier this year and hadn't reported on it over a day after it became news.

More cowbell!!

So uh...... am I not going to get a credit for this submission?

Thanks.

of course not, arn, eric and the boys learn from Steve....... also they are usually slow with apple related news compared to other sites like gizmodo, 9to5mac, appleinsider, TiPb, TUAW, edible apple, engadget etc.....

it's well worth to search other sites first

Just wait until 2 years after the kitchen install when the new software to run it makes your water boil slower. Of course you have the "3G stovetop os" (iOSst3) an it's out of date. You're then told by kitchen fanboys to either live with slow boils or update to a new kitchen.

The funny/sad thing is, that apple had an opportunity to purchase the Kinect technology. they fumbled the ball when they tried to force the company that owns the technology into a completely restrictive set of legal documents.

They balked and walked away, then MS snapped them up.

When I saw the Kinect—“your body is the controller”—and saw people leaping around, I immediately thought that would be perfect for controlling a hot stove or speeding car!

Kinect truly is a game changer. It is opening people's eyes to new ways to interface with computers more than anything Apple has done.

There are a few groups I have met that are going to employ it for physical rehab and exercise, because now it can tell if your doing it right, if at all.

Go watch some kids play with Kinect, it truly is enlightening
