Nobody's forcing you to use Safari any longer than it takes to download Firefox/Chrome/Opera/Camino/whatever. You can deal with it.
No-one forced you to use Internet Explorer either, but Microsoft was still forced to now offer you an options screen.

Seems like a better target would be the App Store's arcane (and whimsical) approval policy. If something's not made with the iPhone SDK, Apple could just reject it.
Apple making statements like they are the largest mobile manufacturer certainly don't help.
Well, it's only fair isn't it ?

Why? This isn't like Microsoft in the 90's. Just because Apple sells the MOST, doesn't mean they have a monopoly. Look at the competition....is there some? Yeah....a LOT. Apple will NEVER have a monopoly over the smartphone market.
People need to stop thinking of it in terms of how much they sell, or how big their market cap is, this has nothing to do with being a monopoly.

Very interesting. I hope that nothing really amounts to anything though. I really don't want flash on my device or have to hear every wacko out their complaining about how flash has reduced their battery life to nothing. Flash has lived past its Golden Years and now needs to be retired.
Yes
If justice exists in this world it should smack Apple's botty rather hard here!
Apple has been acting like a d*ck lately so it comes as no surprise. They seem to think that they can do anything they want.
The police executed a Warrant - not Apple.I think this like the flash debacle, the iPhone storm troopers breaking down the door of gizmodo and the like is that they're no longer the media darling.
As long as you are not legally one, that is not a problem. Apple is in no way a legally defined monopoly. They've been acting like a monopoly.
Based on recent forum activity, I'd say it would be 2-3% tops.Ohhh, now we get to see how many posteres here understand the difference between the Flash compiler program ban and just having Flash run on the iPhone.
I hope it's a small percentage, but I'm not too optimistic...

Great! I love Apple, but I think they're taking the Adobe hate too far...![]()

There's a huge number of brain-damaged fanboys and haters here who basically know nothing about technology, despite being gadget-crazed lunatics.
