If Apple builds it, it will sell.
Absolutely.
This will be one very interesting model, as it may have the A6 chip and the new hybrid OS.

Sony VAOI has used quad SSD RAID 0 for ultimate performance in their Z line-up.
Extremely small market for this - not going to happen.
Fujitsu have included 1 GB VRAM as standard in their consumer machines.
Who cares? If the GPU can't use 1GB VRAM then there isn't any point in having it. More does not always= better
Toshiba partnered up with Harman Kardon to beef up their audio.
They have optical out, as far as I am aware that is the best you can get?
Asus has a ULV laptop with 14 hour battery life.
Where?
Apple could not rely on great aesthetic taste & a very good OS alone to stay competitive.
They have done tho, haven't they really?
If they apply the same design principle as they do the MBA - remove the Optical Drive - Apple could offer to add more battery, a secondary high capacity 1TB or 2TB HDD (along with a small capacity SSD), or an integrated GPU to the 13", 15" and 17" form factor.
This however may be possible, however I recon any optical removal will result in a larger battery only - no secondary HDD...
Some thoughts!

My understanding is the audio quality from their latest iMac is pretty damn good for an all-in-one system.
The current MacBook & MacBook Air unibody design would last longer than the models themselves as one of Apple most iconic form factors along with the original iMac & the original iPod. But the quad SSD RAID 0 is what I would like Apple to consider in their laptops. They have to differentiate the Pro models from the already speedy MacBook Air.

First off, the MacBook Air is a consumer device meant for the average Joe. the MacBook Pro is a prosumer device meant for people wanting to do more with their computer than the average Joe.
MacBook Air may be targeted at the Average Joe but various tests done has confirmed that the MBA 13" is as powerful as 2010 MacBook Pro.
I really want to see what OS they are making or if they're going to use Lion. I can't really imagine an OS X and iOS hybrid so they need to start showing it off![]()
Wish List for next 15" model:
- Hybrid SSD + HDD (128GB + 1TB HDD is match made in heaven)
- 3G capability
- Larger trackpad: I am loving this multi gesture on Unibody model's glass trackpad
- Better speakers. Call Harman Kardon.
- Better integration with Time Capsule. Transfer speed is still slow & buggy on current models.
!) You can do that now; just take out the optical drive and stick an optibay(?) and a SSD in there and you're good to go.
Well, it's tedious for folks who just want to use the machine right away. Optibay is for tinkerer who have lots of time in their hands. Plus, there is the question of incompatibility. Apple is notorious for locking down their system (built-in battery, built-in RAM etc)
2) Larger trackpad? How large does it have to be? And at the current design, that simply ins't possible unless you're willing to make the unit longer and wider; they want to leave space for the palms to rest on the machine.
Believe me: if you are running more than 2 applications and you are frequently going back & forth between them, you will benefit from a larger trackpad. No radical re-design is necessary anyway
4) I'm going to guess that's dependent on your internet connection; can anyone else chime in on their time capsule backup speeds? I use USB myself so it only takes me a few minutes to backup gigs of data.

I could tell you many Professional content creators are using MacBook Air for portability & power and most wouldn't give a flying f@#k if their machines are labelled "PRO" or not.
This is really bothering me and I just have to ask:
Where is this coming from? I can't find a September MBP release date anywhere... did I miss something? Can somebody link me to some confirmation that Apple will release new MBPs next month? (I need a new laptop!)
I'm hoping for the 17" MBP to be made slightly thinner, as that's what I'm going to purchase. Time will tell, I guess.+1 Also want to know if the 17" MBP is due for any changes? I just got one for a great price but am still in my return period if need be. Would hate to have a new release come in within the next 30 days.
15" macbook air:
2,3ghz core i5
4gb ram
256gb - 512gb ssd
amd radeon 256mb
thin 'n cool!
price= 1700$ (256gb model) and 2000$ (512gb model).
how does that sound?

A full 1080p screen, videos are going to look amazing on that screen. Video conversion should be fast as hell on that MBP 17" too. They have to make the 17" slightly thinner and remove the optical drive, I hope.Man I hate waiting...i'm loving the 17" more and more. If I have to part ways it'll be hard going back to my air.
