I have the 3-month trial from my Apple Watch. I like it so far, but only use treadmill and cycling.
But, I find that the offering is poor music wise. I end up replaying the same "Everything Rock" and some "Throwback Hits" trainings over and over again.
I can't stand Country, Hip Hop/Rap, Latest Hits. Maybe a song here and there, but for a 30 minute run or ride, no ****ing way.
That's too bad, I was considering going to the Apple One tier with it for all my family, even if it meant having to recreate my Spotify playlists.
We'll see how it gets garnished over time.
Yep, I've done exercise bits in various capacities and intensities for years (at one point I was out running 6 miles each day, and outdoor cycling on weekends).Just leave all (or most) of your tech at home, and go for good long walk. For health one needs natural variety, constant adapting to unplanned and unscripted contexts. When you're done, go to your favorite café, order a little something, and read that paperback you stored in your jacket pocket.
Multiple family people and one account for music? That's a bad design decision. Family plan and iCloud family. Adults still have their own everything including own billing but you can share music subscription but have individual everything else inside it. Plus share everything with others.Unlike Apple Music this is one to one tied to an Apple ID. So we have an Apple ID with Apple Music and everything else which all functions fine on Apple Watch with a different Apple ID…but if you get apple fitness well then it all breaks down. Bad design decision that we learned about during the free trial so nothing lost.
And a year later, most of the trainers are still saying, “Do the easier modification with Kim, or do the full version with Sam and I.” When it should be, “…. With Sam and me.“
No reason whatsoever the grammar can’t be correct during the workout. Very frustrating.
But I still love the workouts and use the service regularly.
Right. My problem with all "fitness". It by its very definition is non-inclusive. Show me a "dad bod" guy doing the work, then I'll believe you. You‘ve got to be in the shape they’re in and get the pay they probably get to do what they would probably be doing anyway?!
Decoupling the music from the workout doesn’t really make sense.Bingo. It's the music accompaniment that bugs me, too. It's absolutely THE number one reason that makes me resistant to doing this. I got a free 1 year sub from my health plan. I thought "SWEET! I can try it for free and no loss but my time, worst case."
I did one short stretching working and it wasn't bad. I was surprised. I looked ahead at others to see "maybe I was wrong all along".
I have an indoor bike trainer for my road bike, so I want to try the cycling workout in the northern hemisphere winter here. I see the music selection for those... wow... that makes me frightened. "I want to believe", but it's hard for me make that step. If there was a "mute music" option, then I'll do it. Or better yet, "play my own list".

Exactly my gripes with it.I liked this service but it is not for gym rats.
- You can not target a specific muscle.
- You can not make a routine “plan”.
I see this too-but they are just navigating the current culture sea-if they don't make comments about including everyone-people, ridiculously, feel excluded-so hand holding and constant comforting is unfortunately where we are in some venues. I don't use Peloton-is it similar over there?it just felt too "cult-like" for me and, at the risk of sounding very non-PC, the vibe felt like it was trying way too hard to be inclusive. I half expect each class to start with an explanation of the trainer's pronouns.
That being said, we got a Peloton a couple of months ago and haven't looked back. Because Peloton isn't cult-like....right.....
We can't go back to the office-too dangerous...People eat at home, work at home and Apple also want us to do workout at home!? Come on! Go outside and breath some fresh air![]()
Truth. But the coaches in Fitness+ really do smile most of the time.I still find it funny that in every pic ever done of Fitness+ the people are smiling. I just never see that many people smiling and laughing while doing workouts in the gym...
Awesome!! Congrats on your success! Well done...One thing I noticed is that the trainers do mention to "do you" and do what makes you feel comfortable.
I was 70lbs heavier back in February. I didn't have Fitness+ back then, but I did put in the effort with Netflix while on the treadmill and indoor cycle. I had a "grand dad bod" :-D
Now with my free trial, I am in way better shape, so I can pretty much follow most workouts and be in the top on the burn bar (nice flex, I know).
Although back then, would I have noticed that and just be frustrated? Maybe... probably...

To be honest...I don't even hear the music. Really. May be because I've stopped using it on my TV and now only use it on my iPad. But never really paid any attention to the music.Bingo. It's the music accompaniment that bugs me, too. It's absolutely THE number one reason that makes me resistant to doing this. I got a free 1 year sub from my health plan. I thought "SWEET! Learn something new everyday. It is a bit buried. Glad to know it is there. They added filters for upper and lower strength training a couple of months ago.
Just as expected! To put it bluntly, it turned me from a couch potato into a couch potato with an Apple Fitness+ subscription.
Right. I’m always like "what’s so funny?"I still find it funny that in every pic ever done of Fitness+ the people are smiling. I just never see that many people smiling and laughing while doing workouts in the gym...
