...why do we purchase an Apple?
I purchased four Macs this year, a MBP, a MB, a Mac Pro and an iMac. I sold the two notebooks on eBay last month and to tell you the truth, I don't miss them one bit. I bought a HP laptop in July and started using that allot before I sold the two Apple laptops. The quality on the HP is no different then what I got with the MB or MBP. Build quality is exactly the same and really, the only difference is the software.
I purchased the Mac Pro purely on it's 4TB of total HD space because I buy several TV show seasons and movies on iTunes every week. HP makes a somewhat comparable desktop for less money but all you gotta do is look at the inside of a Mac pro to see the build quality.
Every computer manufacturer has defective units and Apple is no different. All you have to do is go to the support forums and you can see that yourself.
Just don't be surprised when you get a new monitor and turn it on only to find it's defective. Macs can crash just like an HP can, HDs can fail, power supplies can fail and monitors can have dead pixels.
The only thing that truely makes a Mac a Mac is the software and the case design. Everything else is no better than what you can find in an HP or Dell.
Ok, I'm back to watching Ghost Hunters on my Mac Pro and it's 23" ACD.
