Al Gore? Hah!
Here's what's happening. There is increasing damage spreading and happening all across the planet. Snow crabs is one rather large recent incident.
The climate is not going to slan the door and we are dead. What will happen is what is happening, areas will have freaky mass die offs, and areas will experience incredibly bizarre weather. The weather trends are becoming hard to miss, if you look for them. Here, we've had more massive wind storms than ever, and first snows that came in October and November are coming in December and even January. Warm trends used to start in March and even mid-April, and now we've had temps over 50 in the end of February, and March. The winter is shrinking, but we have more below freezing days, and more ice storms. Last winter/spring we had something like 5 weekends where the temps were well under 0, to warm up for the week, and plunge for the weekend again. Bitter cold. And last summer we had days/weeks of temps over 100 degrees, and then have massive rains and flooding. All strange weather patterns.
But the data IS out there, and what I say isn't going to change people determined to not see the damage being done.
Eventually the planet will be unable to support life, but it's not going to be 'you wake up tomorrow dead'. Well, unless it's a fire, hurricane, tornado, etc...
But could humanity survive on the planet for eternity? Even if we did everything right, eventually the planet would see the effects, but it wouldn't be in my, or your lifetimes... *shrug*
