Congratulations and enjoy the new MBP. I had a similar experience and ended up walking out of the Apple Store with the original unibody in late 08. It was actually the morning that they were released and was excited to walk out with what was probably the first machines.

grats bro, you are so lucky. Unlucky that you had to deal with a lemon for a long time but glad that it eventually worked out for you.

Apple has already told me they will replace my 2007 MBP due to repeated NVIDIA failures. I had to hold off cause of a move, and conveniently enough, that was just long enough for the update. I'm just wondering which of the two 15" models they'll give me. Mine was the middle of the line at the time, 2.2GHz model. Now there is now middle. If I were buying a new one, I'd likely go with the higher end model, that's a huge bump in graphics. Is it possible they'll give me the higher end one since there is no more middle model? Would it play in my favour if I play real stupid and act as though the 2.0GHz model is worse than my current 2.2GHz because it's "slower" and demand the new 2.2GHz? Or would i just come off as an ignorant douche :D

I usually like to let these guys know I'm not an idiot (ie I know how to confirm it's my graphics card acting up by looking in the Console and stuff like that, or i know how to read internet forums, lol) so I might not be able to pull off the idiot move.

Apple replaced my 07 2.2 ghz mbp with the 15 in. i5 when it was brand new. A word of advice... They should give you the hi res antiglare for free if you request it, because glossy was an option for the 07 macbook pros. I got the antiglare upgrade for free on my machine. They also gave me a free dual link dvi adapter.

May I ask if Apple took your "Early 2008" MBP or did it remain to you?

Thanks
