Would be the absolute best thing that could happen to Apple. Tim knew his time was limited as Forstall was supposed to take over within a few years when he was ready. Tim couldn’t allow that to happen as Mr Crook’s greed is next level. Power and greed corrupt completely.
Your conspiracy theory has no basis in fact or reality.

Worth a read for anyone thinking that Apple would have been better off had Scott Forstall stayed around.

Apple's announcement comes shortly after lead interface designer Alan Dye left the company, and after AI chief John Giannandrea's retirement announcement. Earlier this year, Apple lost Chief Operating Officer Jeff Williams, who is retiring, and Chief Financial Officer Luca Maestri. There have also been rumors about Apple CEO Tim Cook retiring, with rumors suggesting he is preparing to leave his role as soon as 2026.
Looks like Apple boards are cleaning house at this point. Would not be surprised if Cook is actually ousted instead of retiring at this point.

As the article called out, the last 3-4 years have seen the departure of many senior leaders. As someone who works in big tech, I don't see this turnover rate within my senior leadership. Not trying to say the sky is falling, but if more people retire, questions will start to be asked.

Not every SVP, even those who are standouts in their silos, are qualified to run a complete company.

Jack Welch of GE proved this with his stupid management development organization and successor selection strategy.

Welche’s strategic investment bets (which depended on very cheap capital, and seemingly fraudulent bookkeeping to goose results and share price) and successor bet (Jeff Immelt) led to the company barely surviving bankruptcy, portfolio sell offs to free up capital, and splitting itself up to the point of being a shadow of itself.
You’re right. Not every SVP is capable of being CEO. The rumors are about John Ternus, though, so I’m just commenting on the rumors. Originally, the rumors were about Jeff Williams, but he retired, too. Recently, Apple seems to like promoting from within, with only the occasional reach for executives from other companies. It should be noted that the two CEO’s that came before Steve Jobs returned were from outside: John Sculley and Gil Amelio.

Newstead will ultimately oversee both Apple's Legal and Government Affairs organizations as Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Government Affairs.
What might be those "Government Affairs," I wonder.

A surprising number of executives at different levels are all leaving Apple within a short period. Did not expect this!!

the Apple ship is sinking and everybody is leaving

More like Jonesers (i.e., Boomers born 1955-1964) are retiring. With inflation and with unemployment numbers rivaling those of the COVID years, retiring on one's own terms instead of being forced out is a lot easier psychologically and financially.
