This may turn into a rant, sorry in advance.

Why is it called Artificial Intelligence when there literally is nothing on the Earth that is “artificial”. Anything and everything that is made on Earth is not artificial. Humans are not exempt from this, so anything “created” by humans is natural.
I think the real issue is why we are striving for 'intelligence' in automated systems despite the risks it poses.

In any case, perhaps 'electronic intelligence' would be better.

It's actually getting worse in some cases.
I was referring to ChatGPT, which is a set of tools. ChatGPT now offers DALL·E3 access built-in. It also allows for image inputs and more. These are limited to paying customers (which I'm not), but there are features added regularly.

As for the model, maybe GPT4 is worse than 3.5 in some cases (although it has more "memory" and many other abilities that 3.5 does not), but in my experience, many of the people complaining that it's worse than 3.5 are people who don't like the "safeguards" around prompts.

Just tonight I asked Siri to change my wake-up alarm. A command I’ve used for years* now doesn’t work in iOS 17. How do you break something as simple as that? 🙄 And don’t get me started on the new and improved spellcheck... Apple needs to stay away from embarrassing themselves further and work on Siri, a tool they’ve had over a decade to perfect, before they make any public mention of “AI”.

*Disclaimer, I never update to iOS 16 because I was afraid of stupid sh*t like this happening.

This is John Gruber's take with respect to Apple and AI. I've quoted the main gist but you can read the whole thing if you want;

"What I have heard from little birdies in Cupertino is not that there was a miss on this already.
"That is why you fail." –Yoda

There is NO WAY—ZERO—that the folks inside Apple are so brain-dead that they think Siri functions OK, and that they're just being "deliberate" with rolling out, you know, actually making it work like their PR claims.

Greenwashing and gaslighting, not a good look, Tim Cook.

caught off guard? Apple users have know for a very long time that Siri is inferior to others like Alexa. How could this be a surprise. It has baffled me how Apple has carried on without significant improvements for over a decade. It still doesn’t understand basic request to turn on lights.

What’d did you use for the benchmark comparison?

My M3 Pro MBP arrives on Wednesday, I will also be benchmarking it to compare to my AMD Ryzen 6950X w/nVidia 4070. It will prove quite enlightening on how much performance gains there have been since the M1 and M2. I'm still expecting it to be substantially slower than my PC.
