Well, I suppose that's all for the audience. In reality, a good external drive would suffice in most cases.
the 2018 MacBook Pro is garbage. If that had been me in there I would have not been able to hide my wince when the kid said 2018.

Is a 500GB 2018 MBP trash now? That's basically what I work on. I mean 256GB on my machine is closer to 500 than it is 0.
It's a literal trash can. If your screen size ends with 3 or 5, just leave it on the curb, although I doubt anyone will want it.

I love to see a random acts of kindness and I hope this opens doors for him. Also would be cool if he wiped his old laptop and gave it to someone starting out, etc. :)

When I interned at a sports team I was at awe at the portfolios aspiring students would send in and even more amazed to see that many times the equipment they used was old, outdated, or sometimes hanging on to life by a thread. Talent knows no bounds.

Apple recently teamed up with YouTuber Jared Polin to offer a "dream studio" to a young, aspiring photographer and videographer named Cam Blumberg. Polin, who runs the photography website Fro Knows Photo, captured the touching moment on video.

Polin invited Blumberg to his studio for a supposed tour, but he ended up surprising him with a variety of equipment provided by Apple, including a Mac Studio, a Studio Display, a 14-inch MacBook Pro with an M1 Max chip, an iPhone 13 Pro Max, a HomePod mini, a Magic Keyboard, a Magic Mouse, and a Magic Trackpad. Blumberg also received an Amaran P60C LED light panel and a 24TB G-RAID external storage system.

Blumberg's work can be found on Instagram, where has has pages for both his photography and videography. His latest work has focused on basketball players, such as top recruit Dereck Lively, and he has also started to branch into music videos.

The video serves as feel-good marketing for Apple's all-new Mac Studio desktop computer and Studio Display, which were released in March.

I wonder if he realizes that you don’t need a Mac Studio if you already have a MacBook Pro. You can just plug the MBP into the Studio Display when you need to work in “desktop mode”.

Love that guy‘s videos. Fro sold me two cameras thanks to his reviews.
I used to get kind of annoyed by him but them ore I watched the more I realized how much he actually wants others to be great photographers with what ever gear they are working with. I really love his "setup guides" for new cameras, nice and thorough without bogging down in too much detail.

Whaaaa?

Heck, I am an ’aspiring’ videographer as well, but….. where is my handouts?

Maybe I should make a video and send it to Apple telling them why.:D

Samsung 1TB T7 External SSD. BOOM! Problem solved.
The kid only mentioned disk space issues, but editing anything serious on a 13 inch intel Mac is a nightmare. An external GPU would help it a lot though. But 8/16 Gb of RAM would not be sufficient anyway.

Whoa...what an amazing gesture. HUGE hat-tip to Apple.
Why? It is just advertising. The "gift" generated views and clicks, increased exposure for Apple products, and was way cheaper than paying for the same amount of exposure via traditional advertising placement. It's not altruistic, it's just a numbers game.

Did Jared smell the Mac Studio and do the blow test before gifting to the young man?

They're jealous. I'm glad the young guy got that stuff. It's nothing to a company as rich as Apple but will mean a lot to him.
I'm not jealous and not salty. I would tear up if Apple started paying its proper share of tax around the world though.

Yeah, that's never gonna happen as long as there's no unity between nations when it comes to tax arrangements. Like Amazon, Apple's success has been built on dodging taxes.

Ability to edit photographs on the go. While having more power at home.
Agreed but unless the Mac Studio is a M1 Ultra (which would be definitely more powerful but not earth shattering either), the convenience of only having one computer with plenty of power might trump over having to deal with two setups I think. Edit on the go, plug one thunderbolt cable at home and carry on.

Granted, connectivity is more limited on the laptop but nothing that an extra thunderbolt hub could fix left on the work desk. For audio, video and photo editing (and I’ll say it: some games!), the M1 Max has proved above and beyond plenty for 99% of the use cases.

I dig the Mac Studio form factor a lot though.
