Can't believe my old early '08 MBP is still eligible for this. I was certain 10.8 would be the end of the line. Glad to see that's not the case!

Don't celebrate until the GM is released. Requirements are subject to change.

The beta is only good for 45 days correct? and then a new beta will be issued, all the way up until GM status, correct? I'm trying to remember how many beta stages Apple usually goes through up until it's GM.

Is it wrong to mourn the loss of the 'Skeuomorphism' ?
I quite liked the leather. Made it feel like my desk...

I think they overdid it in mocking Forstall. He might have been a [profanity], but they shouldn't have publicly mocked him with insinuations on several occasions.

HairPro stole the show though

Can someone tell me WHY its called Mavericks? The only thing that comes to mind is the Dallas Mavericks. :/

There's a movie you can pick up for a buck at RedBox. It's called "Chasing Mavericks". Should explain it.

New theme is iconic Californian locales.

You've got a 64-bit capable processor, and so long as they include the required graphics and WiFi drivers, amongst other things, you're good.

If you have a Core Solo, you'd have been done as soon as Lion was released.

It won't perform as well as today's processors, but that should be expected.

However, if they do a great job of slimming down any unnecessary "pork" in the UI, your machine should perform relatively well.

I have a 2007 era Dell D830 that runs Windows 8 (64-bit, 8GB RAM, integrated graphics) quite well, as a reference point....of today's software that runs exceptionally well on outdated hardware. Would I use it as my daily driver? No.

Anyone grabbed it yet? I keep getting a down for maintenance message for the last few hours.
