I just did.

Do you have any of the Creative Suite apps installed, like Premiere Pro and After Effects?

I would really love to know if they're working fine with so many changes to GPU drivers and all...

Thanks if you can check that for us :D

Thanks! Just barely made the cut again here (MBP 13" Mid-09) Phew...

Same... lol. Hopefully we can hit that 5 year mark safely together still running the latest software. I've only had a few minor hiccups with this machine, had to replace the trackpad and battery (a given for a 4 year old laptop). Still goin strong, don't wanna give this bad boy up. Only thing that bothers me is the lack of Apple TV compatibility with this machine and audio support with HDMI out connector.

This looks like an amazing update i am pumped to get it. Wish they upgraded the 13" retina pro today but the 12 hour air is tempting

I Was Pleased with the Announced Enhancements

The naming convention aside - the announced and demonstrated updates to Mac OS X were enjoyable and addressed many of the concerns some of us had regarding Mac OSX. The updates to Finder hit the spot - even if overdue. The tagging and searching functionality is outstanding.

The updates to Safari were outstanding as well and the speed and power management enhancements will have great impact on notebooks and laptops.

Also glad to see the cleaning up of the Calendar App and the announced upgrade to iWork coming later in the year. I am hoping and praying we will see multi-level filters and pivot tables.

I am glad that serious attention is paid to Mac OS X. Given all the hype about mobile devices seems to obscure the fact that the world still needs desktops to do real work and stuff for home.

Overall an enjoyable first day.

I can't express how glad I am to see this.

I have a question, we have the same laptop, but on your screen shot it says 0/18 for openGl4.3. I just look and for me it says 0/1. I am still on 10.8.3 but that shouldn't matter how can the number of extension be different for the same specs...?

Why haven't they gone all the way to Open Gl 4.3? I'm not a video/animation professional by any means, but doesn't affect what you can do on the OS? Don't they need the cutting edge support to fully utilise the pro GPUs?

Can someone tell me WHY its called Mavericks? The only thing that comes to mind is the Dallas Mavericks. :/

Ostensibly for the place, but I'm sure that's a bit of insinuation to it's other meaning: "Someone who refuses to play by the rules. he/she isn't scared to cross the line of conformity"

Yes lol! I've been super lucky, clicking with the trackpad is a little less responsive now, but somehow I'm still on the original battery. I'm impressed!

I know the specs are getting dated but Apple should still allow us to mirror to Apple TV.

I skipped Lion after hearing about compatibility issues. Backed up all of my files, formatted and did a clean install of Mountain Lion several months after it was released (I'll let everyone else be my GM testers :D) & still running smooth here. Hoping for the same with Maverick.

Mac Upgraders UNITE ! LOL

When you're trackpad chokes up go buy one online from amazon from private sellers $28 OEM part. I put it in myself, cheaper than the $280 price of getting it replaced at the genius bar. I looked into AirParrot and it isn't that great with airplay mirroring. Framerate issues and issues with playing content.

oh alright. so i can just open the dmg and install it? just going to make a backup first though just in case :D so excited for this update! smooth rmbp here I come!!! :apple:

Are you sure you're in a position to use prerelease, developer-oriented software on what is apparently your primary machine? The fact that you don't already have a backup and don't know how to install an OS are worrisome cues otherwise.

It's in the seed note.

As I posted before in the other thread:

Developer Preview System Requirements:

The OS X v10.9 Developer Preview supports the following Macs:
- iMac (Mid-2007 or later)
- MacBook (13-inch Aluminum, Late 2008), (13-inch, Early 2009 or later)
- MacBook Pro (13-inch, Mid-2009 or later), (15-inch, Mid/Late 2007 or later), (17-inch, Late 2007 or later)
- MacBook Air (Late 2008 or later)
- Mac Mini (Early 2009 or later)
- Mac Pro (Early 2008 or later)
- Xserve (Early 2009)

Woo hoo!!! That just made my day!
