An alternative available to you is you can choose to purchase AppleCare+ monthly or yearly. And because of that, it has to start from the day you add it, otherwise everyone would choose AppleCare+ billing monthly (for mobile devices) or yearly (for computers).
I do t get it. You used too many ”that” and “it”, etc., those are ambiguous.
 
I don’t believe this is how AppleCare+ works. I suspect it’s always going to be from the date your item is shipped, or purchased if it’s in stock.
Incorrect. I have a Titanium Apple Watch. It and the Hermes watches are the only devices that come with a 2 year warranty standard. After having it repaired towards the tail end of the 2 year limited warranty, I was able to add AppleCare. My AppleCare expiration date according to all the paperwork is in 2024 for a Watch that was originally purchased in 2019. I didn’t pay anything extra.
