I have to disagree. I have not yet heard a Bose headset of any type that I found to be good in terms of sound quality. They are NOT accurate. They are muddy and distorted. People have a mistaken idea that the name Bose and high prices equates to high quality. Bose is resting on its laurels. You pay for marketing. People say there is a "Mac tax," but it is nowhere near the proportion of the "Bose tax."
Don't buy the Bose if you can't hear them first. I have to say the same about the Beats. I haven't liked any of them. For reference, my current headphone setup is a set of Shure SE425K with a Fiio E7 Amp hooked to either a MBP or iPhone 4, with all my music at least 256kbps AAC. I have previously owned Shure SE420s, SE315s, SE210s, SE110s, Bose In-Ear originals, and the original Apple In Ears. I have found that accurate audio is much more rewarding to listen to than colored or muddied audio (much like the sound that Bose and Beats like to produce).
