Awesome. Congrats.

Did you get the monthly or pay in full?
Pay In Full. It’s the best deal and I plan on keeping the device. I’m glad that they now let you hop on monthly at the tail end of your Full Pay term if you desire. The iPhone 12 leaks aren’t doing anything for me so the iPhone 11 Pro Max is my new long term
device.

I’d like to recommend that you make yourself an iCal reminder for two years and one day from the date you got your coverage to renew it on the monthly plan.

It's been over a month since this unsubstantiated story from Bloomberg and as of today, there is no such policy from Apple.

Uh, I’ve done it, with a Macbook Pro bought in December 2019. So yeah, it exists.

Although didn’t they remove it very recently when they changed the applecare policy to 2 incidents per year? So it lasted like a month?

Anyway, what I’m sure of is that I acquired an applecare+ plan recently for a 2019 macbook. Had to go into the store for them to verify that it was in good working order.

Yeah, I’ve done it with an 8 month old iPhone so it exists.

That's interesting because I can't find any mention of it on Apple's website, which tells me today is the last day to purchase AppleCare+ for my 2 month old MacBook Pro.

They reversed course on that extended 1 year for buying Applecare+ coverage when they expanded its coverage to 2 incidents per 12 months. That all happened in the course of like 1 month. A few people got lucky enough to actually be able to purchase Appelcare+ with that 1 year policy that lasted about 4 seconds. I did, the other guy posting after me did too.

Are you sure about this? It’s only available in store and was never on the website or over phone or chat support. Not doubting you, it’s just that I hadn’t heard they changed course.

No I'm not 100% sure. The guy should definitely call Apple to have a definitive answer! It also wasn't on the website when I bought my coverage, but I did it not very long after the policy change. But when I called they were fully aware of it (had to go into the store to check the device afterwards). Can't imagine it would still not be anywhere on Apple's website.

I haven't heard or read anything that they changed the new one year offer for US and Canadian customers. The best thing to do is contact Apple directly.

It is NOT available via:

  3. MySupport.Apple.Com/Add-Coverage
  4. iOS/iPadOS Settings > General > About > AppleCare
The ONLY way to get after the 60 calendar days after the date of purchase of the device is to go to an Apple Retail Store. Only after a visual inspection for accidental damage has been completed will you be able to purchase in the Apple Retail Store.

You CAN purchase:
AppleCare+ - Paid In Full
AppleCare+ - Monthly Subscription
AppleCare Protection Plan (TV only) - Paid In Full

You CANNOT purchase:
AppleCare+ with Theft & Loss Protection - either Paid In Full or Monthly Subscription.

If you contact Apple via phone ask for Agreement Administration. They are the specialists that solely work with AppleCare agreements. That team doesn’t have a chat communications option.

Apple chat support has no idea about this. Headed to the store tomorrow to find out for myself.

This is not correct. You CAN still purchase the coverage plan even after the change on September 25th 2020.

They are not promoting it BUT it DOES exist.

My understanding is that this policy lasted only briefly, and was removed after some tweaks to their AppleCare plans... It was never marketed by Apple.

Which Apple products does this apply to? iOS devices? Macs and MacBooks?
