The number of suitors are dropping fast, As popular as twitter is, I think the inability to actually make money has kept folks from buying them

It's OK as a way to communicate to customers in case your website is down or some other issues.
It's also OK to communicate to companies whose customer-support is two levels of morons before you reach somebody with a clue - twitter can sometimes fast-track that.
You just have to limit yourself on the number of people/companies you follow. Some people obviously tweet every proverbial fart they do. Other have nice and interesting links (most of the time).

I like that fact that you don't need a FaceBook login to use it.

Not sure if I'd pay money for the service. Maybe they should should have a subscription fee so you can't tweet unless you pay. That might stop a lot of "+1" tweets....

I'm amazed it has the value, even at the lower numbers, it has. I don't find it useful, but then again I'm older so it's not really for me I don't think. It's just an endless stream of noise as far as I can tell. Man...I do sound like an old curmudgeon!

I think Dorsey is right to focus on video. Have the character limit plus a link to a video seems like an obvious thing.

It would a perfect fit for news organizations or most users who use twitter for up-to-the-second information. And that’s another reason I think they way they handle teeets is flawed and how the old way was perfect. People turn to twitter for what’s happening RIGHT NOW, not for what happened god knows when. There are plenty of services plus the search button for that.

I would imagine it would be a perfect fit for Apple, Gooogle or Microsoft if used as an up to the second service that was able to serve video feeds seamlessly. It would be the best news outlet/rss feed out there.

It's basically a giant social media public posting board that gives each user their own forum. It could easily be copied by some 5-cent Chinese company. Maybe it already has.
Idea and technology behind these type of companies is practically worthless. It's the userbase which is worth a lot.

Take over price divided by the amount of users = the price you are worth as a user.
In Twitter's case you could add the amount of followers in the equasion,

Remember that in the free-to-use world you are the product. When a sale is being done, it's you who are being sold.

$19 billion / 600 million users = $30 for your Whatsapp account

But this is relatively chump change. The going rate in the telecom provider world are worth thousands of dollars per subscriber.

Why pay for Twitter when you can develop a competing service to fill the voice after Twitter crashes -- a service that would actually be integrated with your current offerings? If I'm Google that means native search and gmail and Android integration. For Apple it means messages or iOS and so on. Paying for a customer doesn't make sense when the barriers to entry are so log and the barriers to customers leaving non-existent.

Drive it's price down, take it over, can Dorsey and the rest of the stiflers of free speech board and let the platform operate as it should. A place where both the dregs of society the best of the best can interact and create TOOLS that allow safe space users have their little echo chambers. Monetization is done through it's data and advertising even if the users hate it. If done tastefully and with great specificity, it can make a good amount of money. Doing things that benefit the user base like partnering with the NFL offering up live streaming is a great start and could really create a sort of hub for entertainment outside the old broadcast/cable company cabal.

Good, it's a disgusting place, hypocritical den of rabid SJWs. That's not a condemnation of their censorship, it's a private platform and they can do as they like, but if they believe their side to be the right one then they ought to stand up and admit openly that they are doing it and outline what 'types aren't welcome 'round those parts'. Not that that matters now.

Take a photo or video, choose a duration to view it, send. ?

tried it out, still found no good use from it. not sure what the fuss about it was? i use twitter often and like it. of course other than the trolls and fake accounts that post spam quite often.

twitter is junk. They should have morphed into something by now. It shows a real lack of imagination that such a large company hasn't moved forward in years. Facebook is in the same boat IMHO they just falsify their user interactions to get ad revenue.

Unfortunately Twitter has just become a trolling cesspit. Facebook is heading that way too.

Nobody cares about what people write, everyone has a better opinion.
