Twitter is (at least in the public eye) meant to be a forum where any ideas can be discussed freely. But there has been an ideological shift towards the left at twitter banning many conservative political commentators, blaming them for their followers actions. While turning a blind eye to activist lynch mobs that freely bully people, get people fired etc. Focusing on the non issue of "trolls". I think as a platform it has become partisan and is suffering the consequences of 50% of the population not liking that. Regardless of your political persuasion, censoring one group and giving preference to another is not good, and certainly not a good business model. Now we see Youtube trying the same thing with "youtube heroes" by giving the most ideologically motivated people free reign to "mass flag" videos without even watching them. The current batch of social media is partisan, and worse authoritarian. Now we see the rise of "candid" and other anonymous social media, as people are starting to see the ramification of "SJW lynch mobs" can have on their daily life. These platforms are no longer (if they ever were) public forums where ideas can be spread and discussed. New social media will take its place. I say good riddance to partisan platforms of all kinds.
