I feel like any iPhone you get, you’re settling. There’s still many small things I wish my iPhone 7 Plus had. The Pixel 2 XL I’m using has one of the simplest features and Apple still can’t implement on this iPhone. When I get a call and I’m typing an email or watching a video, I don’t want the whole screen to be taken over by the call. I want that small window that will allow me to either answer or decline without stopping what I’m doing. How hard is that. It’s the small things that matter.

And there is quite a few things like this that have been on iOS and not revised or updated in years. I understand the OG iPhone from 2008 having old outdated feeling features, but it's 2018 and iOS 12 now, and still these same annoying things in iOS.

App icons not being allowed to be moved and placed anywhere you want on the screen. WTF Apple, really still? What if I want my most used apps on the bottom, just above the dock, but want no other apps on the screen, can't even do that. Unbelievable in 2018.

How are these things going unnoticed at Apple ? Just shows what a mess iOS is.

So Cal.
. They also sync between all of your devices so there's no need to pair them everytime like on Android and they don't lose connection ever.

Complete BS, I have an android device paired to 2 cars and 2 seperate smart watches that were paired once on set up. The end!! If yours didn't pair, if they even exist, then they were broken..

Please explain how you tweak the software on an OS pls. If closing open apps or clearing all the caches with one button press is what you are getting at but dressing it up as suggesting that you are somehow altering code, then can I ask what is your agenda? Are you being paid to trash android? If not then. Mmm.. interesting.. i use both OSs on a daily basis and they are so close to each these days.. plus and minus on both sides.... Oh, btw, 2013 called, it wants your android put downs back, they aint relevant no more...
[doublepost=1537377280][/doublepost]
Oh bless you, all these things existed on other handsets.. Apple just held them back so they could make a big keynote speech about these great new things, call them "retina" lol, the crowd laps up a non HD display for the next 5 years as being a work of magic!! Embarrassing!!

Sounded like you’re the one whose been paid to trash Apple... if Apple is such copy cat then explain to me that why is notch a big thing for the android phone now? Apple only adapt new technologies after its been proven that’s not a gimmick before implementing them in to the iPhone with responsive and best version of which ever new tech that they’re adopting.

But then again, you can make arguments that Apple offers other things Android devices may not do well with. It's a back and forth. Nothing is perfect. Android is better for your needs and sadly Apple isn't going to be the forefront of newer software features as much as other OEMs.

Not trashing the iPhone, I may jump on board again when iOS 13 beta releasees.

But what does the iPhone do, that Android hasn't or can't already ?

You pair them but need to reconnect everytime and they usually unpair.

iMessage for starters. Give software support for up to 5 years, better encryption, stronger software & hardware integration, gets apps sooner, doesn't require you to use Google Services. It really is subjective. I prefer Android features, but iOS stability. Long-term usability is more important to me, so I chose to go iOS this time again.

It's open to interpretation. I could go on about iOS faults too, but for simplicity sake, I would say iOS meets my needs better than Android does.

iMessage ? Uh ok...I use WhatsApp and it does more than enough for what I need. I see zero need for iMessage in my circle of family, friends and customers. iMessage offers me nothing that I want or need.

Update support? Google gives me 3 years of guaranteed software updates, which is more than enough for me. How many people keep their phone for over 3 years ? Heck, look at this forum, most people change phones every 6 to 12 months here, so update support doesn't matter. At 3 years that's plenty of support time.

Stock Google apps are just better to me, like Google Maps, GMail, Google Calendar, etc...

Google Now / Assistant blows away Siri.

Bottom line it boils down to 'Different strokes, for different folks'.

That's what I was saying too. I definitely think you are much happier with Android. Glad you know your OS preference though because I can tell from being in limbo, it's not fun. I am glad I chose one over the other. I was using my Nexus 5X for a day and it felt so different and antiquated for me.

Siri works properly but does much less things than Google Assistant and we all know it's due to security reasons.

As I said, there are revolutionary features made by Apple which nobody has ever done it.

Just like how Bill Gates changed the world through Microsoft Windows but now it surely lacks luster. While I do agree that Apple has not really come up with something more revolutionary like Multitouch back then but it surely going ahead with Face ID and Touch ID and it's Bionic Chips.

There's nothing about brand loyalty. If I'm talking about Apple so is you and others talking about Android and other Android manufacturers. Both of us are not paid by those companies and yet we are here answering each other because we have strong opinions about what we are using and I like to think it that way rather than saying I'm a troll or an Apple Fanboy.

Absolutely bang on.

If you buy Apple's 5W Power Adaptor it will cost you 19USD. If you buy Apple's 12W Power Adaptor it will cost you the same 19USD.

I don't understand how hard it is for Apple to include 12W Power Adaptor which charges iPhones & iPad quick. Both are the same price and it's bloody 2018. Are you kidding with me?

Also, I hate that iPhone XR doesn't support 1080p display. That's ridiculous. We have entered with so much of 4K content and you are giving us 720p while in that same smartphone it has almost all the flagship features.

I'm only disappointed with these 2 things. It's 2018, C'mon Apple!
It’s not only due to Apple’s stance on privacy. Google have heavily invested in AI and computational learning.

This will be my last post on the "Alternative to iOS and iOS Devices" board. Pleasure chatting with you all about Android, Microsoft, and other devices with you all. Hope you guys enjoy the upcoming Pixel 3, OnePlus 6T, and other Android launches in the next few weeks. I chose to make a long-term move to iOS and will not be looking at Android devices for a long time. All the best.

Lol, are you saying that they unpair if they go out of range. Then reconnect when you are next to them. If this is done automatic, then they are working fine, if you have to do something then they are broken..

I don't think I've ever had to fully unpair/repair Bluetooth devices on an Android phone before. Now, if I've used my headphones with another device, like a computer, then sure I'll have to go into the phone and manually connect them to my phone. Hell, I had to do that with my AirPods from time to time with an iPhone.

Not sure what you mean, but doesn’t Bluetooth technology got limits on how many devices that it can remember at a time? My phone pairs with my phone automatically, and my headphone pairs with my phone when ever I got into range, don’t think I have to unpair any of them.

My airpods will repair to the last device they were connected to if it’s in range when I take them out of the case. They don’t show a preference for my iPhone.

They disconnect on my Note 8 numerous times, I have to keep going into bluetooth settings and reconnect them again.

That's deffo a device.or accessory issue, not the OS just deciding to unpair things.... cos it wants to....
Just the same as some devices can't hold a Wi-Fi signal... device error, again..

I have Samsung phone and tablet. I don't have to re pair Bluetooth devices. Its still there on the list of devices they are issued with. I have six different devices paired with them. Wireless over ear headsets(2 JBL) , wireless earbuds(some off brand from Wish app) two different Bluetooth speakers( Jbl & Roland) and my TV(Samsung)

What do you think? For him it’s all good, but with your Samsung it’s not, might of be a trick that Samsung played. Never know.
That was exactly my point on how I said the AirPods never lost connection on my Apple devices but they do on my Note 8, the guy just took my argument and tried making his own by stating the phone was defective but that’s exactly what I meant since I pointed it.
