AirPods Max definitely need an update. USB-C, specs up to par with AirPods Pro 2, lossless audio support, a normal carrying case, and a price drop to $499.
I’d assume you’ll see the first two in the next couple years or so… But not the last three.
AirPods Max can already do Lossless*, and getting Apple to budge on the carrying case is not something I see as likely.
But USB-C and the H2 are a given.
*24 bit 48 KHz audio can be played with the $35 cable for the AirPods Max, only type of loss experienced is just because of the digital to analog to digital conversion but it’s still above CD quality. Wireless lossless audio is still barely a reality, and I wouldn’t expect Apple to adopt such a thing until there’s absolutely no quality, reliability, heat or battery trade-offs.

I don't expect another Mac Pro, that product is dead.
I’m not sure where you get that idea…
“They join our incredible Mac lineup with Apple Silicon, making the transition nearly complete, with only one more Mac to go. The Mac Pro! But that is for another day.”
These are words literally spoken at an Apple event not even a full year ago, unless they’re planning on canceling a product they’ve already announced by name, it’s coming.
And for anyone who wants to say “but but but AirPower they did it with AirPower AirPower was a things, and it wasn’t nothing so they could do this with a thing and make it not a thing again.”
AirPower was a “one time in three decades” thing, and it also was a brand new product Apple had never made before.
The Mac Pro is none of these things

Pretty standard situation as far as Apple goes. Hilarious they still want $550 for those headphones.

Right? The AirPods Max should NEVER be updated, not if Apple does a gen2 like the HomePod. Ain't NOBODY gonna wanna carry a headset in a bra!

Wasn't it a female engineer/designer that designed that bra case for the AirPods Max?

Also Apple Pencil functions incredibly well it doesn't need to be updated. But if it does you can BET it'll be significantly better.

The "____est Mac ever" line has become tiresome, especially when it comes from Apple. I mean, why would you launch a product that wasn't better than the previous generation product. It's a total throw away line.

Exactly. Plus it would destroy the Mac image for pros which is already on rocky grounds since the 2013 trash can fiasco. Where they publicly as far as they could PR wise said “we messed up with how we treated professional Mac users”.

On top of that, we’ve seen what happens to a product Apple doesn’t plan to update with Apple Silicon.
It gets completely and totally discontinued, like the 27 inch iMac.
Apple said they would complete the Apple Silicon transition in two years, and they missed the deadline.
If they truly didn’t plan on introducing an Apple Silicon Mac Pro, they would have discontinued the previous Mac Pro before the end of last year, then made a really self-congratulatory “The Apple Silicon transition is complete” statement.

Every time a firmware update comes out or there is some change to the Home setup in iOS/iPadOS/tvOS, my HomePod Minis get updated. It's a speaker. What other updates does it need?

We don't need a planned obsolescence for the Apple Pencil 2. It works fine.
i was going to say, they don't need to change it. But a price reduction seems appropriate. They have more than recovered any R&D, and it is too expensive for what it is. Apple 1 needed to be updated and for the garbage it is, but in it's current form it should be 30 dollars.

I hope Apple updates the new iMac in the Spring of 2023. We are roughly a month away now.

iMac carrying an M2 chip + 30" screen display would be awesome. Last release date: April 20, 2021.

Right now I am leaning towards buying M2 Mac Mini Pro (12C) and Apple Studio Display BUT if Apple would come out with 27-inch iMac with M2 Max it would be a sure buy for me. I don't see a point in having 30-inch iMac and as there are already 27-inch Studio Displays out there which Apple just needs to fill with proper HW I don't think we'll see larger version.

I wouldn't mind an Apple Pen that works on any of those readers they give you to sign something. Hate using the finger. People still have to give their signatures in a variety of circumstances.

I have some great ideas for Apple:
  • Mac Pro: Literally a Mac Studio, but with a bigger fan and 50 times the price, optional wheels for 70 times the price
  • Apple Pencil 3: USB-C charging, but only compatible with the Lightning iPads. Has a USB-C female port so cannot be plugged into anything. Requires a separate USB-C female to Lightning male adapter that ships in late 2024 for $99.99. Has magnets but they're the opposite polarity than the Apple Pencil 2.
  • Pro Display XDR: 900% price increase. We listened to our customers, now includes stand. Doesn't include LCD panel, however. Sold separately. Requires single-use disposable Apple Polishing Cloth 2 Pro Max, sold separately in a pack of 2 at $99.99. Half the size of previous version. Currently unavailable.

Waiting for a USB C charging version of AirPods Max. Loved the sound but returned mine because I found it incredibly annoying needing a lighting cable just for them.

Tempted to update from my 2013 iMac to this 2021, but the voice in the back of my head says to wait!

Most of these products are not updated because they are fine as they are. I have Apple Pencil 2 since its release, and I have yet to find something to complain about it. Same for HomePod mini. So yeah probably that Apple could do some small improvements, but there is a reason why most of those products are not updated as often as iPhones or Macs
thank you. idk why people are shocked that certain products haven’t been updated in years. they’re obviously still selling well and are absolutely fine. don’t need updates often.

let me have the latest and greatest as long as I can lol.
